He was upset that she had chosen Barlow instead of him.

His tone carried a hint of sarcasm. Rosalynn looked at him, understanding the reason for his anger butremaining silent.
It became silent again.
Brian’s mood grew heavy once more.
He looked out the window, his expression cold, and remained silent.
Soon, they arrived at Beauty Apartments.
Rosalynn opened the door and let Brian in.
Maggie was not home.
“Please take a seat. I’ll get the first-aid kit,” Rosalynn said and then went to get it.
Brian didn’t respond. As Rosalynn sat beside him and expertly wrapped his wound, he couldn’t help butask, “Do you genuinely plan to be with Barlow?”
Rosalynn stopped what she was doing and responded, “No.”
“No? Weren’t you two on a date earlier? Haven’t you spent the entire day with him?” Brian questionedher, struggling to contain his anger.
Rosalynn sighed and resumed tending to his wound. “He said it to piss you off. I’ve told you before thatI don’t want to be in a relationship for now.”

Brian’s eyes lit up as the heaviness in his heart slowly dissipated.
However, when he recalled Barlow’s claim that they had cooked together, his anger flared once more.

She didn’t want Brian to discover that she had been to her grandfather’s place.
