“Maggie, who’s Jaelyn?” Bart inquired after Sanford’s departure, breaking his silence.
“His ex-girlfriend,” Maggie responded.

“| just get this feeling that when he looks at her, he’s somehow changed,” Bart mused, scratching his head thoughtfully.

Maggie nodded, her eyes cast downward. “Guys must be into her.”
Atinge of dejection colored her expression. Bart scratched his head “Maggie, do you feel inferior? Don’t put yourself down.You're beautiful too. Otherwise, why would Sanford fall for you?”
His words held truth.
Maggie tilted her head, locking eyes with him. “Then why do you think I’m beautiful?”
After a few seconds, Bart scratched his head and blurted out, “You're simple and pure, gentle and kind.”
Maggie was at a loss for words.
