“Good night.” Rosalynn waved at her and then trailed Brian into the apartment .
Seeing Brian seated on the sofa, she pursed her lips and went to pour him a glass of water.
The room fell into silence. Rosalynn sat beside him and asked, “Are you unhappy, Brian?”
Brian took a sip of water, traced the rim of the glass with his slender fingers, and admitted, “Yes.”Rosalynn regarded him and asked, “What can | do to make you happy?”
Brian glanced sideways at her and retorted, “What do you think?”
Rosalynn understood that the incident from that night was not entirely resolved.
He wanted to know why she had to stay overnight with Barlow.
