Chapter 210

Chapter 210

Conrad’s eyes lit up, and he no longer looked as embarrassed. “That’s right, Miss Pond. Since thevillagers grow their own vegetables, they aren’t filled with pesticides. We can eat them without worry. Ifyou like them, I’ll pick some for you when you depart.”

“Alright. Thank you.”

“I’ll leave you to your food. Once you’re done eating clean them up later and bring you around thevillage.”

“Okay.”

After Conrad left, Silvia turned to Eva and Joe.

“Let’s eat.”

just leave the bowls on the table. I’ll

They had not managed to eat breakfast that morning. Eva and Joe sat beside Silvia and ate in silence.

Eva did not expect the food to taste so good since they did not look fancy. She did not even realize itwhen she got a second helping.

After lunch, Conrad took them on a tour around the village.

A little over one hundred people lived in Ten Miles Village. The young adults had all left for work. Theonly ones still around were children and adults who were not highly educated.

As Conrad walked ahead, he introduced the village to Silvia. When they came to a crossroad, at girlsuddenly ran over and bumped into Silvia.

“Eep!”

The girl’s bowl fell out of her hands, and she fell forward as well.

Silvia grabbed the girl and caught the bowl that had sl*pped from her hands. Before the others couldregister what just happened, she had handed the bowl back to the girl.

“That must have been scary,” she spoke gently with a faint smile. The girl was stunned to the point thatshe forgot to take the bowl.

Conrad looked at her and asked, “Autumn? Where are you going? Why are you in such a hurry?”

Autumn snapped out of her daze and took the bowl. “Chris is back, Mr. Clark. I’m just on my way togive him some food.”

Conrad chuckled. “Chris already had dinner.”

“That won’t stop me from giving him food.”

“Alright. Off you go.”

After Autumn left, Conrad said, “Chris used to live in our village before he left to look for work. A talentscout discovered him, and he became an actor. Apparently, he won an award not long ago.”

Silvia was shocked. She only realized that Autumn was talking about Chris Rios when Conrad

provided more information.

“Mr. Clark, are you referring to the actor, Chris Rios?”

He nodded. “Yes. He’s really famous. It looks like you know him too.”

She did not expect Ten Miles Village to be Chris’s hometown, “Yeah, I do know him,” she said.

Conrad was stunned. “Since you know him, let me take you to his house. In any case, you’re bound tomeet him over the next few days.

“Alright.”

On their way to Chris’s house, Conrad wondered if it would be easier to secure the business dealbecause Silvia knew Chris.

Just as they reached his house, they heard Chris teaching Autumn how to read. Conrad then knockedon the door.

Chris opened it soon after and smiled when he saw Conrad.

“Hello, Mr. Clark…”novelbin

However, he was surprised to see Silvia standing beside him. “What brings you here, Silvia?”

She smiled and said, “I’ve been looking for suppliers lately. When I saw the textile factory in Ten MilesVillage, I decided to check it out.”

Chris nodded. “Oh, yes. I heard Mr. Clark talking about it a few days ago.”

П

“I wasn’t expecting the village to be your hometown. Have you been here during your entire break?”

There was a strange look in his eyes, but he smiled and said, “That’s right. I always come back herewhen I don’t have any work.”

Lately, the Rios Family had been contacting him frequently and asking him to return to the family. However, he did not want to deal with them, so he came here to hide.

“We won’t be bothering you, then.”

Chris stared at her. Although he had a myriad of things to say to her, he did not know where to start, sohe nodded and said, “Alright.”

Conrad sent them back to their accommodation. Before he left, he looked at Silvia and said, MissPond, I’ll pick you up at 8 a.m. tomorrow for the factory visit.“
