Chapter 167

Chapter 167

Neil still had no idea that Silvia was MY Corporation’s president, Otherwise, Dulcie would havesuspected that it was an act of revenge for the divorce.

“There’s no point in finding out why since the collaboration isn’t happening. Our focus now is to findanother option. Please send me a list of fabric companies.

“Alright.”

After a day of reviewing, Silvia picked out three companies that MY Corporation could afford to engagewith. She then asked Joe to schedule appointments with them.

One of the companies immediately agreed to a 6 p.m. dinner appointment.

Silvia arrived at the restaurant early and waited until 6:30 p.m. However, the man she was supposed tomeet never showed up. She gave Joe a call and asked him to find out what was happening.

After a few minutes, Joe called back.

“Miss Pond, the man had to go on a business trip all of a sudden. He’ll only be free after the trip. Heshould’ve informed us earlier!”

Silvia smiled when she heard Joe’s dissatisfaction. She tried to make him feel better. “It’s fine. This isnormal. You can contact the other two companies tomorrow.”

She sighed after she ended the call.

MY corporation was not the same as it used to be. It had gradually gone downhill during her absence. The company could only survive for a few more months despite her fifty–million–dollar investment.

Even if she disregarded the fact that she had founded MY Corporation, she did not want the company

to fail.

The best way forward was to declare bankruptcy and reassemble the company. However, she would.not let that happen now that she was in charge of its operations again!

Silvia gave Isla a call and invited her for dinner.

After half an hour, Isla appeared before her. She tried to disguise herself with a pair of sunglasses and

a mask

Silvia could not hold back her laughter. “I think it’ll be easier for others to recognize you like that.”

Isla took off her sunglasses, and her eyes were filled with confusion. “Really?

“Yes. They won’t notice you if you dress normally. But if you try to cover up, people around will becurious.”

“Alright.”

She took off her mask and looked around. Once she determined that no one was paying attention to

her, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Silvia was taken aback when she saw Isla’s make – 1

up

“Did you have to wear a mask with your makeup on? No one’s going to recognize you unless theyknow you very well” She laughed.

Isla had drawn a fake mole on her face. Coupled with the thick makeup, she looked really different fromher usual self.

“Right? I think so too,” she said as she joined in the laughter.

Silvia then passed her the menu. “Just order whatever you want. I already ordered two dishes before

you arrived.”

Isla ordered two more dishes and passed the menu back to the waiter, who quickly left.

While they waited for their food to arrive, Isla looked at Silvia and said, “Why are we eating out tonight? Are we celebrating something?”

Silvia shook her head. “My client flaked on me. I figured since there’s already a reservation, we mightas well have dinner here.”

“Oh.”

Isla did not question it. Silvia was a busy woman, and even though they were friends, she would neverunderstand the work Silvia was doing.

“Miss Connolly, what a coincidence!”

Isla’s face immediately darkened when she heard someone’s cheerful voice. How could he recognizeher with her disguise?

Silvia was also surprised to see David.

How did he know Isla?

Isla glanced at him impatiently and said, “Mr. Cooper, I’m having dinner with my friend. Please don’tbother us if there’s nothing important!”

Only then did David turn around and spot Silvia. There was a hint of surprise in his eyes when he saw

her.

“You’re here. I’m having dinner with Neil and the rest in the first private room. Would you like to joinus?”

Before she could speak, Isla grimaced and said, “No thanks. Silvia and Neil are divorced!”novelbin
