Chapter 770

Chapter 770

‘Why aren't we drinking Lafite?"

Vermont could not help but ask.

Felicity glanced at him, "The Lafite is an apology gift from you to me. What makes you think you can drink it?"

Vermont was speechless.

Her answer was so reasonable that he could not argue with her.

Felicity put the white wine aside. She did not open it. She just started eating on her own.

Although it seemed like Felicity forgave Vermont because she took the Lafite, she did not talk to him throughout the meal.

Felicity was a talkative person. When she ate at his house back then, she talked non-stop. She would rant and gossip. Shewould complain about what went wrong at work. Or she would talk about the drama and animated show she was watching.

She would never keep quiet during meals or bedtime. In her own words, "If we're not allowed to chat during meals, why should we sit together and eat? We can just eat on our own."

When Vermont was brought back to Rivera when he was around eleven or twelve years old, he did not fit in with the peoplearound him. Unlike kids from well-known families such as Keegan, Vermont did not receive an elite education. He was not a topstudent in school. He did not have excellent manners and etiquette either.

When he first entered the Rivera circle, he was like a mongrel mixing with a group of expensive dog breeds. He was left out. He was laughed at.

He got rid of the "unrefined" habits that he developed when he lived with his grandfather. He put on a mask to fit into that circlebecause everyone did that. He must do this to avoid sticking out like a sore thumb.

He fitted in very well. Ever since he established himself with Green Hill Media and Neon Nebula, no one dared mention "stinkyfishmonger”. If someone slipped up and accidentally mentioned that he "came from a family of fishmongers" or words like that, someone else would drop that person a "gentle reminder" without Vermont speaking.

Because everyone thought that his working-class background was a matter upon which he was reticent.

Vermont did not feel that way. But after those people "reminded" him about that time and time again, he gradually began to feelupset with his background.

People around him were rich young men and young ladies from very wealthy families. They conducted themselves withpoliteness and discipline. When he was with them, no matter what they were doing, his primary concern was whether his actionswere different from theirs.

He had been in this circle for a very long time. He slowly began to forget who he used to be.That was until he met Felicity.

She would curse. She would even hit people who angered her. She was not ladylike when she ate. She would open her mouthbigger than Vermont did. When there was only one piece of meat left on the sharing plate, she would do everything she could tobe the one who ate it.novelbin

Her behavior was completely different from those rich young men and ladies. But when he was with her, it was as though he gothis old self back again after a long time. He felt very relaxed in whatever he did.

He did not need to worry about people gossiping about him when he went to eat or order takeaway from a restaurant.

Not only did Felicity think it was fine, but she also praised him for saving money.

He also did not have to worry about others telling him that he did not have good taste when he wore domestic products that heliked.

Felicity would tell him to send her the link. She wanted to support domestic products with him. She told him charity began athome.

Until now, Vermont still was not sure what kind of feeling he was having for her.

He felt very comfortable when he spent time with her. He did not want Felicity to ignore him. But he felt something was missingwhen he thought about whether he fell for her.

‘| don't think | have the urge to sleep with Felicity.

‘Even when | kissed her, it felt more like | was just teasing her. | felt gentle and calm when | kissed her. But | didn't have thesudden urge to kiss her.

‘| feel relaxed and comfortable when I'm with her. | didn't feel these when | was with my ex-girlfriends.

‘| don't want her to be together with Corbin Steven because I'm afraid that she'll get hurt. | want to tease her. | want to protecther. But | don't feel like sleeping with her. Could it be because... I'm treating her like my sister?’ 1

The more Vermont thought about that, the more he felt like that was the most likely reason.

When he was very close to Keegan back then, the relationship between Keegan and Marshall bothered him very much. WhenMarshall came back to Hustuabourg this time, he even got jealous for the first two days.
