Chapter 597

Chapter 597Keegan pursed his lips and handed Stella the coat. 'TH leave once you put it on."

The corner of Stella's eyes twitched. ‘Keegan is so old-fashioned. He's making it a big deal out of showing my back as if no onehere had ever seen a woman's back.’

Stella impatiently took the coat and draped it over her shoulders. "Happy now?"

Keegan was satisfied and before he left, he said, "I'll be back." He did not forget to give Dahlia a warning look before leaving.Dahlia turned red from anger.

Keegan walked toward Aldor, took a new coat that Aldor had brought him, and put it on. As he buttoned the coat, he instructed,“Keep an eye on her. Don't let her get bullied."

Dahlia's expression turned cold as soon as Keegan left the scene. She glanced at Stella and said, "You're able to fool Keeganeffortlessly. Looks like | really underestimated you."

Stella smirked and said, "Thank you, Mrs. Kane. You flatter me."

Dahlia's face darkened with anger as she lowered her voice. "Stella, don't get carried away. It's not easy to enter the Kane familythe moment you divorced Keegan. Even if | don't take action, Grandma would never let you remarry Keegan with just the factthat you couldn't bear children. Not to mention your identity is currently unknown."

Stella felt a little down, but she did not show it on her face. She looked at Dahlia indifferently and replied, "I'm not interested inremarriage now. Even if | did, | would let Keegan kick you out of the Kane family before | remarry him." She lifted her eyes."That's not a treat. It's a warning.”

What Dahlia depended on was nothing more than the identity of Mrs. Kane. As a widow with no power in Rivera, there weremany ways to drive her out of the Kane family. Stella had respected her in the past and always put filial piety first as she wasKeegan's mother. However, once Stella thought back about it, not all elders deserved to be treated with respect.

Dahlia was agitated and was about to speak when a pleasant female voice came from behind. "Dahlia."

Dahlia's expression softened when she saw that it was Darcie. She immediately put on a polite smile and said, "Mrs. Saun, you're here."

Darcie was wearing a dark green gown with a slightly retro curled hairstyle that looked like something from the 1920s to 1930s. Itlooked like the attire of a socialite from the old days. Her eyebrows were delicately drawn. She did not look as striking as Dahlia, but she was still quite attractive. Beside her stood her daughter, Jaylene. The two were about the same height and bore a slightresemblance in their eyebrows. Darcie took good care of herself, and they looked like sisters when standing together.novelbin

Darcie saw Stella and paused before she said, "Ms. Jewell, you're here too."Stella nodded in response. She was uncertain if it was just her imagination, but she felt that Darcie was not as friendly towardher as she had been at The Deli.

"Jaylene is such a beauty. She looks exactly like you when you were young, " Dahlia was so friendly toward Mrs. Saun and herdaughter that she even forgot to taunt Stella.

‘Come to think of it, Keegan's father and Wenham were classmates. It's not odd that their wives would know each other. Dahliahas a high status in the group of wives in Rivera. One could even say that she ruled over them. So, it's quite rare to see herbeing so polite toward other wives. On the other hand, Mrs. Saun is being quite magnanimous. She just buried the hatchet aboutAurora locking Jaylene in the toilet,’ Stella thought.

Stella was thinking about the birthday gift she prepared. She walked over to a side and sent Felicity a text message after noticingthat no one was paying attention to her. [How long are you going to take?]

[Between half an hour to forty minutes. There are too many things,] Felicity replied.

Stella answered, [Thank you, | appreciate it.]
