Vermont shrugged her away once more. Felicity’s muscles, on the other hand, did not fail her as she hugged Vermont's waistonce more, not letting go no matter how hard he tried to shrug her off. If Felicity were to do this to Keegan, he would definitelypush her away in a rough manner. Vermont, on the other hand, was different. He was worried that he would offend someunknown rich heiress if he were to use brute force.
He patted Felicity’s shoulders and smiled at her. “At least let me have a look at you to see how you've changed.”
‘Wouldn't | be giving the game away if you see my face?’ Felicity thought. She snuggled into his chest and replied, “Don’t makefun of me, Vermont. I’d be embarrassed.”
Vermont thought to himself, ‘This isn’t a prank, right? Short stature, stubby legs, and such a strong grip?”Corbin, who was surprised at them being intimate, asked, “Are you two childhood friends?”“We have only mingled for a short period.”
Felicity was worried that Vermont would expose her and quickly tried to find an excuse to leave the conversation. “HappyBirthday, Vermont. You two should continue your discussion. I’m heading to the ladies’ room.”
Not giving Vermont a chance to react, she released him and dove straight into the crowd. Vermont still could not figure out whoFelicity was, except for the exceptionally bright eyes of hers while she was talking to Corbin.
Corbin asked, “Vermont, who is she?”
‘How would | know who she is?’ Vermont thought.
In the end, Vermont gave an excuse. “A distant relative.”Corbin smiled. “She’s quite charming.”
Felicity was far away before she sneaked a peek, only to sigh in relief when Corbin was still casually chatting with Vermont. ‘Thatwas so close. Luckily, | reacted fast enough.’
Her face was full of disgust when she lowered her head to look at the hands that held onto Vermont. She rested at a corner shefound while waiting for Corbin to leave.
