After she heard that, her hope that had been rekindled faded away again. She gently asked, “So, it was just an isolatedincident?”
The doctor comforted, “It’s not certain. It’s a good sign that her eyeballs moved. But | can’t make a conclusion just because ithappened once. After all, she had been in a coma for a very long time. You can continue to observe her and let us know ifanything happens.”
Stella nodded, “Thank you.”After the doctor left, Stella sat at the side of the bed and carefully looked at her mother for a long time.
Before she left, she gave the orderly some money. But, the orderly refused to take it. Stella said, “Just accept it. | don’t comehere often. You're the one who takes care of her here. I’ll feel bad if you don’t take it. Do promptly notify me if somethinghappens to my mom in the future.”
“I'll definitely do that. It's my job.”After hearing what Stella said, the orderly accepted the money.
When Stella got back to the apartment, Felicity was still awake. She was opening her WhatsApp group, and the television at theside was on. It was showing a variety show called The Sound of Film and Television.
“You're back.”
Stella grunted. She then slumped on the soft couch. Her frayed nerves were finally relieved a little.“Why do you look like shit? How’s Aunty Rainee?” ?p
“She's fine for now.” Stella sighed, “But | didn’t get to divorce him.”
“What's the big deal?” Felicity stuck a cherry into her mouth. “You can just reschedule.”
Stella was not as optimistic as her. ‘When | called Keegan in the afternoon, he sounded like he thought | intentionally bailed onhim. He even thought | was trying to play hard to get again. We didn’t get to divorce today. | guess it'd be hard to reschedule withhim for the divorce.
She had sent Keegan a message asking him if he was free tomorrow. But he did not reply to her. He probably just acted asthough he did not see the message even if he did.
Just when she was still thinking about how to ask him out again, Felicity suddenly said, “Anyway, the two boxes of white trufflesare still in the fridge. When are you planning to give them to him? I’m worried they’d go bad.”
That suddenly dawned on Stella. “How could | forget about this?!”
‘| was just thinking of an excuse to ask Keegan out. This can be my excuse. He will keep his promise to me, and | guess hewon't avoid me."
“What the heck? The Sound of Film and Television wants to invite Bella to the show.” Felicity looked disgusted when she lookedat the news in the group, “I think the production team has gone insane. Did the internet forget about how she dared tosensationalize the major traffic accident?”
The Sound of Film and Television was a very popular variety show in recent years. Due to its great traffic, the show was a greatplatform for publicity by the crews these days.
It was indeed off-putting to see someone she disliked on the show she loved. Felicity continued, “It must be fake news. Let mecheck who spread the news.”
Stella, who was not interested in variety shows, suddenly said, “I think it’s true.”
Felicity turned her head and said, “How do you know?”
Stella stared at her. “A few days ago, the official Facebook page of the production crew sent me a private message asking me if |want to get on the show.”
Felicity was shocked!
“They invited you?”
Stella nodded, “But | haven't responded yet.”
Felicity was shocked again!
“Why haven't you answered them? Just say yes! Why are you so hesitant?”
Stella pursed her lips.
Felicity was surprised for a moment. “Are you afraid of being on the same show as Bella?”Stella said, “I'm not afraid of that. | just don’t like to interact with her.”
“That’s normal. No one would like to see their husband’s mistress. But, think about it. If you get on the show, the one who'd becrushed is her! She always publicly says that she’s very gorgeous, right? Let's show the audience what a truly beautiful ladylooks like! She must be very pissed off when the show is broadcast! | feel so good just imagining it! This show is so popular. Whoknows, a director might have his eyes on you and immediately ask you to be his female lead. And, you'll be famous instantly.”
