Chapter 1741

Chapter 1741Keegan felt a sting and retorted, "When did | assert dominance? I'm just thinking it would damage my reputation if this got out!"

“Oh, but it's fine when you and Jaylene flaunt your relationship without caring about my reputation? If so, why should | care aboutyours?" Stella nonchalantly replied.

Keegan was displeased to hear that. "I'm not flaunting anything! | came here to express gratitude!"“And Marshall came here to apologize. Is that not allowed?" Stella countered.

Keegan was no match for Stella, even before his memory loss. Hence, he directed his dissatisfaction toward Marshall, glaring athim.

Stella covered Marshall's face with her hand to block Keegan's line of sight. With a stern look, she said, "We're the ones arguing. Why the hell are you glaring at Marshall?"

"You're still young, so it's understandable if you lack selfrestraint. However, he's much older and should know better, " saidKeegan, furious at Stella for protecting Marshall.

Stella's eyes twitched. Keegan never knew how to express his jealousy in a healthy way. He would never tell her that he wasjealous. Instead, he’d argue with her on moral grounds and put the blame on a third party.

If Keegan were to direct his grievances toward Stella, not only would she deny any wrongdoing but also retaliate and eventuallydisregard him entirely.

However, he could simply vent his frustration when it came to a third party. He seemed to enjoy a momentary release as heaimed his criticism at Marshall.

He labeled Marshall as being much older as a personal attack, especially since they were the same age.

Stella felt compassion for Keegan but did not back down." Marshall is only a few months younger than you. If he's consideredold, what does that make you? A grandpa?"

Clearly provoked, Keegan pointed at her, only managing to say, "You're being unreasonable!”

Keegan and Jaylene's joint visit to the Saun residence left Stella angry, so she purposely addressed Marshall by name. Eventhough Marshall was aware of her intentional use of his name, he couldn't help but feel a certain emotion when he heard it.

He gently lowered Stella's hand and jokingly said, "Maybe Keegan thinks he's still young without his memory, and compared tohim, | might seem older. Let's not argue with him."

Frustrated by the insinuations, Keegan was about to retort when Jaylene appeared with a fruit platter, prompting him tobegrudgingly resume his seat.

"Stella, you came."

Stella nodded in acknowledgment, not particularly fond of Jaylene's host-like comments whenever she saw her.Despite her dissatisfaction, she remained committed to avoiding needless conflicts.

However, Marshall said, "Ms. Saun, why would you say that she came when she's returning to her own home? Is she an outsiderto you?"

Jaylene was momentarily surprised and quickly expressed remorse. "I'm sorry. | didn't mean it like that. It's just that Stella hasn'tbeen living here recently, and | got used to saying that."

Glancing at Stella, Jaylene continued, "Stella, I'm sorry. | didn't think you'd mind. | truly didn't mean anything by it, and | won't sayit in the future.”

Marshall was asking for basic respect, but from Jaylene's point of view, it looked like Stella was making a big deal out of nothing.novelbin
