Chapter 1657

Chapter 1657

Stella frowned. She was about to say something more, but Baldwin turned and walked away. She wanted to follow him but wasblocked by the security guards.

Dahlia said without holding back, "Get lost now! Don't think you can do whatever you want here just because you're a part of theHall family!"

Stella stopped walking, turned around to glance at Dahlia, and left without saying anything.Dahlia glowered at her receding back and cursed under her breath.novelbin

Aurora did not say anything. Instead, she looked at her own mother somewhat strangely and asked in a low voice," Mom, did youreally get a death certificate for Keegan?"

Dahlia paused and immediately got angry again, "Do you believe in her or me?”Aurora lowered her gaze and kept quiet.

She did not know if she should believe in Dahlia anymore. When Dahlia reduced the manpower earlier, the reason she gaveAurora was that Cordelia did not want to escalate the matter and affect the company.

But there was no proof that Keegan was dead. Plus, considering how much Cordelia loved him, Aurora figured it seemed strangefor Cordelia to make that decision.

After not getting any response from Aurora, Dahlia softened her tone, "Of course, | hope that Keegan is safe. He's my son, and Ido care about him. But it's been so many days, and the rescue team has said there's no chance of him surviving. What else doyou expect me to do? He's gone, and you're not married yet. I've got to plan for our future, after all."

Dahlia played her trump card, worrying that Aurora would turn against her, "Don't let Stella fool you. She doesn't care about yourbrother as much as you think. Your brother went missing, yet she's messing around with Marshall. How could we ever trust afickle woman like her? She has bewitched both your brother and Marshall. You and Marshall would've been together long ago if itweren't for her."

Aurora was taken aback as she stared at Dahlia for some time without speaking.

Her feelings for Marshall had long faded. She did not know if Marshall was interested in Stella, but Stella was definitely not asDahlia had described. She was sure Stella did not mess around with Marshall when Keegan was still missing.

Aldor had told her that the kidnapper jumped into the river and pulled Keegan with him. Without hesitating, Stella jumped in, too.Stella was willing to risk her life for Keegan, so why would she throw herself into Marshall's arms now?

Aurora suddenly remembered that Cordelia had wanted to raise her personally after her father's death, but Dahlia opposed theidea. One day, Keegan brought her out to play. When they returned, Dahlia immediately gave her a cold shower.

She was afraid of the cold water and insisted on not taking it. However, Dahlia told her that only by doing this could she keep herby her side and prevent Cordelia from taking her away.

After taking the cold shower, she immediately got a fever. Cordelia asked her about what happened. Following Dahlia'sinstructions, Aurora told her she was caught in the rain after Keegan took her out to play.

Back then, after Quentin died, Keegan had indeed treated her coldly for a while. It was something that everyone in the Kanefamily knew.

After listening to what Aurora said, Cordelia mistakenly believed that Keegan had done that on purpose and was still harboringresentment toward Aurora because he had not recovered from Quentin's death.

Cordelia was worried that her relationship with Keegan would worsen if they lived together, so she agreed to let her live withDahlia.Of course, Keegan did not let her get soaked in the rain. Instead, he had removed his jacket, draped it over her head, and

carried her back.

Aurora had always believed that Dahlia did everything because she loved her. But now, she suddenly felt that her mother wassimply using her to achieve her own motives of staying in the Kane family.

Just like what she was doing, stirring rumors about Stella and Marshall, provoking Aurora's anger for Stella so that she couldinherit Keegan's wealth.

Aldor told her that she was different from her brother as Keegan never received any motherly love from Dahlia, so everything hedid was justifiable.

Aurora did not believe it before. As the person who had been favored, she never felt like anything was unfair.

But now, as she thought about everything that had happened in the past from her brother's perspective, she suddenly felt a chillrun down her spine.

While Dahlia was still talking to Aurora about the will, she had long lost interest in listening.
