Stella fell silent when she realized that Darcie and Jaylene were the ones with the most to lose from her return. Though hersuspicions might be unfounded, the mother-daughter duo might not be as welcoming as they appeared.
During the dinner, Darcie had shown genuine warmth, and Jaylene had been polite. The meal had been harmonious. As theconversation shifted to the choice of venue, Darcie had been thoughiful by providing Stella with several options.
"Stella, I've personally visited these hotels, and each of them has a unique style. While we want the banquet to be grand, yourcomfort is our priority. Take a look and choose the one you prefer.”
Stella casually flipped through the options and noticed Olivia's hotel among them. So, she made her selection.
At the time, she did not think much about it. But later, when Trevor drove her home, he revisited the topic. He suggested theevent be held at either Dragon Lake, which had the best outdoor scenery, or Emperor Suite, the highest-rated hotel in Rivera.
Considering it was already November, an outdoor venue would be too chilly, making Emperor Suite the most fitting choice.However, Stella did not think much about it then. She told Trevor that Regal Banquets was owned by her friend and that theyshould support her. Trevor respected her choice and dropped the subject.
‘Looking back at it now, was Trevor implying that | should change the venue? Was this what Olivia meant?’ Stella was sharp, buther mind could not naturally navigate such scenarios. Fortunately, Olivia's suggestion made her weigh the situation.
After some contemplation, Stella finally said, "Regardless of whether she intended this, it's too late to change it now. The event istomorrow, and changing venues at this point would be a hassle."
Even if feasible, making a switch at this stage would be overly inconvenient. Guests had already been notified; a sudden changewould undoubtedly lead to speculation. It might even lead to a bad impression.
Olivia furrowed her brows as she tried to come up with a solution. "Since we can't change the venue, I'll help you elevate theambiance. Your return to the Saun family must be a grand one."
Stella was intrigued. "How will you do that?"
Olivia smirked and said, "Just wait and see."
"Since the Sauns will be paying for this event, I'm sure they're willing to spend a little more on their long-lost daughter.’
After ending the call, Olivia told the manager, who was busy with venue preparations, to clear out the decorations.
The manager was taken aback. He could not believe that he was being asked to remove everything after a day of hard work. "Isthere an issue with the arrangements, or is the
party canceled, Mrs. Chapman?"
Olivia waved her hand dismissively and said, "Don't ask questions. Just carry out my instructions."
Thus, the decorated venue was quickly returned to its original state.
Olivia reached out to a few of her contacts and immediately set her plan into motion.
Not long after, Stella arrived at the location where she had planned to meet Keegan.
