Lydia defended herself. "It wasn't entirely my fault. It was dark, and Hugo ran out on his own. There are so many children in thekindergarten. How am | supposed to keep an eye on everyone?”
In fact, Lydia was not feeling guilty at all.

Hylda was taken aback as her expression immediately darkened. "She's onto us already?"
"The lawyer she appointed sent us a letter demanding we move out in three days, or they'll sue us for property infringement.Hylda, | invested more than a million in this kindergarten back then. Lydia's expression turned awful. She despised hearing that condescending tone from Hylda as if she owed her life to her!
“What should we do now, then? Are we just going to sit here and get sued?"
Hylda sat up. "Yeah, why not? Our kindergarten is huge and has so many students. Do you think we can move out just becauseshe demanded us to? The parents and authorities will never agree to this! Besides, we have the title deed. Why are you so afraidof her?"
Although Hylda was right, the thought of going to court terrified Lydia. She had never set foot in a courtroom and always had abad feeling about that place.
"Should we hire a lawyer, then?" Lydia asked.
Hylda pondered momentarily before saying, "You don't have to do anything now. Just continue running the kindergarten as usual.Let's see what they'll do after three days, and we'll come up with a plan by then."
Lydia had no idea what else to do, so she listened to Hylda.Hylda hung up the phone, and her face immediately darkened.
