Albert tried to grab Hylda again, but Ian blocked his hand and said with a dark expression, “Brother-in-law, the decision you made is very unfair to my sister, yet she didn’t say anything harsh to you. How fardo you want to push her?’
Albert opened his mouth and could not find a word to say.
Then, Ian flatly said, “I’m going to hire the best lawyer for my sister in this lawsuit. We’re not going togive up on Sophia and Hugo. You should tell your lawyer to be prepared as well.”
Albert started panicking at that time.
Ian was not the same man anymore. He had the advantage over Albert since he married into theMoore family. Besides, Albert did not trust Hylda in keeping the secrets she had been hiding for somany years if their marriage were to be broken.

When he thought about that, he got so worried that he immediately stepped forward to stop Hylda.Then, he said in a hoarse voice, “Hylda, don’t be mad. I’m foolish and made a stupid decision.
“You’ve been with me since you were seventeen years old, and I’ve not given you a proper status orrecognition at all. I didn’t even give you a proper wedding ceremony, yet I’m making you go throughsomething like this. I’m such an idiot.’
Hylda’s eyes turned red as she choked with sobs. “There’s no need to say anything like this. I know I’mgetting older, and I’m nothing compared to a young girl in her early twenties. I guess I deserve this forruining somebody else’s family back then, and I accept it. After all, we’ve been together for many years.Let’s not turn things ugly.’
Albert said downheartedly, “What are you talking about? I’m not going to divorce you. I want Sophia,Hugo, and the baby inside of you regardless of gender. Just focus on taking care of your health andquit thinking about giving up on the baby. The child is destined to be in our family, and I’m going to lovethe baby just as much regardless if it’s a boy or a girl. As for Xenia, I’ll give her some money and tellher to get an abortion. I’ll never see her again.”
Hylda replied in a hoarse voice, “You’re not lying to me, right?’
Albert then said, ’I’ll go to her now and have the operation arranged.”
Hylda sneered inwardly, but her face looked very helpless anyway. “Talk to her nicely and don’t makethings worse. Otherwise, your image in the company will be affected. A fresh graduate like her onlywants to climb the social ladder and take shortcuts. Offer her more money and try your best to satisfyher.”
Albert agreed with her and grabbed her hand before he gently said, “Get some rest, then. I’ll go overthere now.”
“Okay. Try to settle it peacefully,” Hylda said.
As soon as Albert stepped out of the door, the helpless look on Hylda’s face immediately disappeared,and she said in a deep voice, “Ian follow him and see if he’s really going to do as he said, or he’s justtrying to fool me.”
“Okay,” Ian said and left.
When Albert came out of the ward, he coincidentally saw Xenia talking on her phone in the hallway.
Xenia saw him, and she was stunned for a moment. Then, she turned around and was about to walkaway.
Albert quickly went after her and grabbed her hand. ’Didn’t the doctor say there’s another checkup in awhile? Where are you going?”
Xenia anxiously moved her hand away as her lips trembled. It took her a few moments before shecould speak. “Does your wife want me to have an abortion?”
Albert paused and did not know what to say.
The look on Xenia’s face instantly turned dejected when she saw how Albert just kept quiet withoutsaying anything. After a few seconds, she said in a breathy voice, “Can I have two more days with mybaby before I do that?”
Albert felt a bit conflicted, but he hardened his heart as soon as he thought of Hylda. “Get it done assoon as possible for everyone’s sake.”
Xenia’s face turned pale as her eyelashes trembled slightly. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she heldthem back without letting them roll down.
