Chapter 2014

Chapter 2014

Darcie was very disappointed with Jaylene's attitude of underestimating her rival.

"Stella doesn't know a thing about designing jewelry either, but she turned The Velvet into a weapon.

Look at it now; everyone knew it was meant to be my wedding gift to you."

Jaylene was surprised, replying quietly, "Selling jewelry and making perfumes are totally different. She

just got lucky. In Caline, who would respect someone who knows nothing about perfumery?"

Darcie said, "Even if she got lucky, you shouldn't underestimate her. So what if you know more about

perfumery?

"There are many skilled perfumers in Caline. Do you think the company can't function if any of themnovelbin

leave?

"The key is selling the products and rallying people in the company. You need to focus on what really

matters."

Darcie was very worried, yet Jaylene seemed completely unconcerned.

She thought that Darcie was being overly anxious and that Stella could not pose a threat to her.

Although Stella might have half of the company's shares from Wenham, Darcie was the person who

brought Caline to its current place. All the employees respected Darcie, and even if Stella was going to

be a major shareholder in the company, she could only get dividends because she knew nothing about

the company.

As long as the core team stood on Darcie's side, even if Caline were to split up, Stella would be the

one at a loss.

"Did you hear what I said?" Darcie sounded somewhat unhappy upon not getting any response from

Jaylene.

Darcie had spoiled her too much over the years, causing her to have no sense of crisis. Before Stella

came into the picture, Jaylene could do whatever she wanted because Wenham and Trevor would not

intervene much with Caline.

Actually, Wenham gave Darcie all the power to operate Caline as compensation for taking care of his

mother throughout those years.

However, things became different now that Stella had come back. Wenham transferred every share he

held in the company without any hesitation.

'Stella's eyes look so much like Freesia's. However, unlike Freesia's enamored gaze when blending

fragrances, Stella's eyes harbor intense ambitions.

'The Velvet is not her ultimate goal; what she really wants to seize is Caline. ' Darcie thought to herself.

She was all set to take Stella on and stop that from happening, yet Jaylene was still so blinded by love,

which made her very angry.

Although Dahlia was not capable of doing anything, she managed to give birth to such a disaster.

"I heard you," Jaylene responded reluctantly.

Darcie took off her coat, hanging it on the rack. While pouring herself a glass of water, she asked, "Why

did you come to find me?"

Jaylene quickly replied this time, "Mom, what did you say to Keegan last night? He suddenly told me

that we should see each other less often."

Darcie's hand trembled, and she felt the urge to splash water on Jaylene's face to snap her out of it.

But after reminding herself that Jaylene was her own daughter, the frustration eased away.
