“I just want a wedding ceremony.” Hylda glanced at her and said nonchalantly, “You better keep yourguard up. Stop going shopping and having high tea with those rich girls all the time.”
Sophia still could not process what happened. She only nodded after hearing what Hylda told her. “I gotit, mom.”
Albert left not long after he hung up. Xenia quickly told Stella about the information she had gatheredearlier.
Stella frowned and fell into her thoughts.
She was still trying to figure out what Hylda’s plan was when she received a text message from theproduction team of The Palace, telling her that World Peace’s premiere had been rescheduled. The twodramas were supposed to be aired a day apart. However, both premieres fell on the same date at theexact same time, which was the prime-time slot of 8 PM.
The production team of World Peace had cut off the ending of another drama just to secure the slotand premiere World Peace on the same day as The Palace.
It was a despicable move as the ratings of the premiere were very crucial to the production. It coulddirectly affect future investments, online exposure, and public attention.
The original premiere dates of these two shows were already very close to each other, yet World Peacedecided to reschedule it to the exact same day. It was very obvious that they were simply trying toovershadow The Palace.
World Peace was adapted from a controversial comic, and it had gained a lot of traction before it waseven aired. The production team was known for not prioritizing quality in their work. They only wanted
to take advantage of the hype and create a money tree.
Even though The Palace had been very low-key in its marketing campaign, Daniel’s reputation was justtoo good. Everyone knew that every drama he directed would be worth watching.
If The Palace were to be aired first, audiences who watched it would not be able to stand a money-grabbing drama like World Peace. So, they had to be aired on the same day to overshadow ThePalace and secure a share of the viewership.
By doing so, even if some people realized that The Palace was a better drama than World Peace, itwould not matter anymore because the show had already ended and made enough money forthem.Nobody would care anymore after that.
Then, The Palace would become a drama with good reviews but no viewership.
That was the dark side of the film and television industry.
A coworker shared the news of World Peace rescheduling its premiere in the group chat.
And everyone was shocked.
After a few months of hard work, they were met with a cut-throat competition like this to ruin theirdrama. So, all of them were upset.

Stella froze.

Daniel urged her. [Hurry up and post it now. You’re the only person who hasn’t done it.]
Stella edited the template and uploaded it on Facebook.
Then, she thought for a while and decided to call Daniel.
As soon as the call was connected, the sound of people chattering and playing drinking games camefrom the other side of the phone.

“Oh.” Stella then added, “I’m impressed. How could you still have the mood to attend a party when thepremiere is on tomorrow night?”
Daniel replied nonchalantly, “Have you gone to school and taken an exam? Have you ever seen a topstudent studying the day before the exam?”
Stella paused. Then, she said slowly, “Well, a low-performing student wouldn’t study a day before theexam either because he wouldn’t understand a thing anyway.”
Her response left Daniel speechless
