After thinking that Vermont would not have to go through this if it was not for her, she made up her mindand said with gritted teeth. “I’ll be your fake girlfriend. Would that be okay?”
Vermont paused and looked at her from head to toe. ‘You? I guess not.”

Felicity suddenly looked hesitant after hearing Corbin’s name.

Vermont was ecstatic. However, his face looked even calmer as he reached out and rubbed Felicity’shead. She wanted to move away, but she gave up the idea when she thought about what Vermont said.
Vermont’s hand was warm, and when he placed it on Felicity’s head… it felt like a gentle night breezeblowing by.
For some reason, her ears felt hot.
When Vermont saw her reddened eyes and puffy lips, he felt a strong temptation to kiss her. However,he managed to stop that dangerous thought.

He took his hand back and placed it on top of her hand that was resting on her knee. “I’m sorry that youhave to do this,” he said softly.
Felicity felt a little strange when he spoke like that to her. She was more used to the mean andsarcastic version of him. She could not help but feel like he was up to something bad with how gentlyhe acted.
She withdrew her hand and scratched her head as she said unnaturally,” Let’s not talk about itanymore. Does it still hurt?”
“It’s bearable,” Vermont replied.
“Hm…”
Vermont spoke before Felicity could continue the awkward conversation,” Are you going to post it, orshould I do it?”
Felicity was surprised. “Post what?”
