Chapter 70

Seeing Kimberly’s sour expression, Aurelia felt a strange sense of satisfaction.

Just a couple of days ago, Kimberly had been complaining that even with money, she couldn’t buycoffee from the Beanless Brews coffee shop. Today, she had unintentionally thwarted herself, whichdeprived her of an opportunity to flaunt it on social media.

What was even more unexpected was that the person delivering the coffee was the owner of BeanlessBrews coffee shop. With his blond hair and tall stature, he immediately caught everyone’s attentionupon entering.

“Ms. M-” the handsome man started to call out in a friendly manner, but he quickly changed his toneafter Linda shot him a meaningful glance. “Ms. Miller, your coffee has arrived.”

“Okay, just leave it there,” Linda replied casually.

Everyone eagerly approached to take their coffee and took photos with the handsome coffee shopowner to share on their social media.

On the sidelines, Kimberly considered getting up a few times, but Aurelia watched her with a knowingsmile. She could only sit back down, her regret evident on her face. It was quite comical.

As lunchtime approached its end, Linda announced that she wouldn’t disturb their work any longer andprepared to leave. Aurelia escorted her downstairs and immediately took out her phone.

“Mom, how much did you spend today? I’ll transfer the money to you right away.”

“Why are you talking nonsense? I treated you to some food, and you want to give me money? Lindareplied, displeased.

“But there were so many things, which must have been expensive.”

“I said it’s okay, don’t make a fuss. Do you still see me as your mother–in–law if you keep refusing?”Linda asked.

“Alright, then. I’ll treat you to something delicious next time.”

“Sure, let’s go to that restaurant we often visit. I’ve been craving their snacks these past few days.”

“Okay. But, Mom, thank you.”

Linda probably had no idea how much she had helped Aurelia today. She could finally break free fromthe center of attention.

Linda pursed her lips and smiled. “Why are you thanking me? Thank your husband. He’s the one whoasked me to come.”

Aurelia’s mind blanked for a moment, and she hesitated. “Mr. Synder?”

Linda rolled her eyes. “You keep everything to yourself even when you’re facing issues. I would havecome earlier if I knew these people were treating you like this. I’d make them envy you to death.”

Aurelia quickly intervened, fearing that Linda might end up treating everyone to afternoon tea everyother day. “Mom, since you know what they’re like, it’s better if you don’t come in the future. It’s yourmoney, and there’s no need to waste it on others.”

Linda burst into laughter, covering her mouth. “Every time I’m with you, I can’t help but laugh. You’reright, I’ll buy for you next time, not for them.”

Aurelia nodded in agreement. “Yes, that sounds like a plan. Please be careful on your way back.

“Don’t worry.”

With a wave of her hand, Linda left the building. Aurelia breathed a sigh of relief and quickly startedtyping on her phone.

“Mr. Synder, thank you for today.”

“You’re welcome.”

It’s still concise and very much like Leslie’s.

“How about I make you a bento box tomorrow?” She remembered that she still owed Leslie a

bento.

“Sure. Just go easy on the meat; I can’t eat that much.”novelbin

“Oh.”

If Leslie discovered the beef strips were a mix–up last time, would he get angry?

Aurelia couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

She was surprised as she touched her face; it had been a long time since she had such a relaxedexpression.

She never expected that she would end up living together with the cold and ruthless Leslie.

After putting her phone away, Aurelia went upstairs. As soon as she entered the office, she wasimmediately surrounded by Millie and the other colleagues.
