Chapter 53

Chapter 53

Just as Lianne saw Zane, he also noticed her. The noises coming from Room 203 were loud and clear.

At that moment, Lianne wished she had the power to be invisible so she would not be caught in this

awkward situation.

However, Zane was calm as usual, even when Lianne was blushing. He was not at all affected by the

couple’s commotion.

Lianne wanted to pretend she had not seen him and to slip away quietly, but Zane stopped her with

one question. “You can’t sleep because of Eugene and his wife?”novelbin

Lianne was speechless

Mr. Atlas!

Boss!

Was it not best to pretend they had not seen each other at this time?

How could Zane ask such a question so calmly?

Was he a normal human being?

Zane did not seem to notice how awkward Lianne was at this moment. He walked toward her.

Since you can’t sleep, come with me to the bar for a drink or two.”

Lianne nodded. “Sure.”

As long as she did not have to stay here and listen to this, she was willing to go anywhere.

The stairs were on the other side of Room 203. They walked toward the stairs and passed by the

door of Room 203, where they could hear the couple’s conversation coming from the room.

Lianne even heard Mrs. Fuller’s crying voice. “Eugene, you b*stard…”

Lianne was speechless.

She felt like nothing went her way today.

Lianne did not even dare to watch porn, yet she was able to experience this live broadcast.

After leaving the building, her ears were finally at peace.

Lianne’s befuddled mind gradually regained its senses. She suddenly realized that Zane had invited

her for a drink.

Thinking of the couple upstairs and how drinking could lead to sex, Lianne regretted agreeing to a drink

with Zane.

Zane said, “You don’t have to drink if you don’t want to. Why don’t we go for a walk instead?”

“Mr. Atlas, can you read minds?” How did he guess what she was thinking every time?

Zane smiled. “Just look at your face. You might as well have ‘I don’t want to drink with you’ written

on your forehead.”

Lianne touched her face and wondered if she had so little control of her expression.

“Lianne, I’m sorry!” Zane’s deep voice was accompanied by the sound of the wind rustling the leaves,

which was especially pleasant on this cool night.

“Mr. Atlas?” Why would Zane apologize to her?

Zane continued, “The three of them are my college classmates I have business affiliations with. We’re

quite close to each other. Before I returned to Rosewood, we made a pack for all four of us to bring our

wives out for a gathering. Since I’m having problems in my marriage, I thought of bringing you here.

However, I didn’t consider you might be put in an awkward situation.”

Lianne did feel awkward, but she did not complain. “I’m your assistant and on your payroll. I’m just

doing my job. You don’t need to apologize to me.”

Zane looked away from her face. The tenderness in his eyes was fleeting. “Walk with me?”

Lianne nodded. “Sure.”

There were many flowers in the garden, and the fragrance of flowers wafted in the air due to the

breeze.

The two walked silently, one after the other. Lianne wanted to break the silence several times, but she

did not know what to say. So, in the end, she said nothing.
