“When did you get your marriage license, Seren?” Elisa suddenly asked.
Serenity replied, “Early October, I believe.”
It was a hasty marriage, and Serenity was simply looking for a marriage of convenience, so the datewas not that important to her. All she remembered was that it was somewhere at the beginning ofOctober.

Finding himself in a hot seat, Zachary finally spoke up and relayed the date they got married.

Zachary was stumped for words.
Nervous, he moved his gaze to Serenity.
Serenity looked back at him.
“Seren, we talked about keeping our marriage a secret… That was why I didn’t let Ms. Stone know thatI had a wife.”
Serenity stared at him without a word.
Since she had already given Zachary a piece of her mind, there was nothing more she wanted to say tohim now.
“Elisa.”
Jasmine gave Elisa a tug and waited until Elisa cast her a glance before whispering,” Can I have aword with you?”

Serenity had no idea what was said between them out there. Her settled mind was all over the placefollowing Elisa’s accusations of Zachary.
She took a seat behind the cash register and picked up where she left off with her crafting. Serenitysaid, “You should leave, Zachary. You’ll only make Elisa mad by being here.”
Scowling, Zachary blurted in rage, “Serenity, do you care more about Elisa than me? Are you going todump your husband just because she’s angry?”
