Chapter 598

Chapter 598

The Browns pair tried to flee.

Alas, the cops arrived.

“Stop them!”

Seeing that the mother and daughter were going to make a run for it, Duncan commanded the peopleto swoop in on them.

“Mr. Lewis, did you call the cops? What happened here? There seems to be a commotion.”

The cops recognized Duncan.

It was mainly because Duncan was a familiar face among the police force but not for al good reason.

After turning over a new leaf, Duncan took an honest path and went into business. He grew Lewis &Co. into one of the major corporations in Wiltspoon in the span of a few years and had a net worth ofbillions.

Everybody around here knew who Duncan was.

Well, it would be more accurate to say that everybody doing business in Wiltspoon knew Duncan.

“They came here to beat up my employee. Look at what they did to her.”

Duncan pulled Liberty out from the crowd and showed the train wreck Liberty was.

The cops were speechless.

A catfight!

Their gaze shifted from Liberty to the mother and daughter. Mrs. Brown did not suffer many injuries.Liberty simply pushed her aside and left her out of the fight due to Mrs. Brown’s old age. Libertyunleashed all her anger on Chelsea, so the latter had it worse.

It was plain to see who won the catfight.

Nevertheless, it did not matter to the cops who triumphed. All that mattered was who was in the right.

“Officer, this is a family matter. She’s my sister–in–law. We butted heads because of a householdaffair,” Chelsea quickly explained.

She would not be able to keep her job if word got out that she was arrested.

Although she had been having a hard time at work, Chelsea cared about her job. She did. not want tolose it.novelbin

“I’m her mother–in–law. It’s just a family dispute. We just got into a tiny issue and got a little physical.Officer, please believe us.

Mrs. Brown was frightened, afraid that the cops might take them away.

She did not want to spend the New Year’s locked up in a cell. She would be humiliated if her familyfound out about it.

“I’m divorced. They are not related to me in any way.”

Liberty stated aloofly, bringing up the reason for the dispute.

There were many eyewitnesses and surveillance footage. After checking the security tape and takingtestimonies, the cops drew up their own conclusions that the mother and daughter were cruel. It gavethem a new perspective about human nature.

The mother and daughter had the audacity to make trouble at the woman’s workplace after the womanno longer had anything to do with the family.

They lost tens of thousands and put the responsibility on an ex–family member.

The sister–in–law was something else. She could twist the facts around.

The woman who was hit should have divorced the man sooner.

She should have separated from the man early on so she could get away from her notorious mother–in–law and sister–in–law.

A few cars drew near and could not get close to the office building as there was a crowd at theentrance. The cars had to be parked afar.

They were the vehicles of Serenity, Mrs. Stone, and the others.

Seeing that there was a police car parked out front, Serenity had a bad feeling about it. She carriedSonny and hurried over there.

“What’s going on? There’s a police car.”

Furrowing his brows, Mr. Stone did not want to join the crowd, but his wife and daughter–in- law wentalong with Serenity. He brought along his security details to escort his wife and daughter–in–law tosqueeze into the crowd.
