“Is it because Mrs. Lewis doesn’t accept you?”

“It has nothing to do with Mrs. Lewis. I truly only regard Mr. Lewis as a friend and have no otherintentions.”

Mrs. Lewis was one of the reasons, but she was not the main reason.

Liberty did not accept Duncan because she did not love Duncan.
