Chapter 38: Rescue Kaylee Part 2
Tobios' POV
(Where the fuck does his braveness is coming from-) I thought when I looked at him
He didn’t even hesitate and punch me on the face a while ago making me froze in shock for a moment
then he didn’t even backed down when I nearly tried to strangle him.
"I...I'm.... so...sorry...I ...didn't mean to punch you" he said after he punched me.
I was trying to process what is really wrong with this person that he doesn’t give up already that he
can’t save here.
People who already went inside the dark smoke can no longer came back again since you will be
consumed by the power of the abyss.
(But there's only one thing I know. That expression that he showed me looked very familiar)
(And why am I suddenly getting carried away by that expression Am I-- No. This is bullshits)
I clear my thoughts and think of something else while glaring at him who is now on the ground while
sobbing.
(Maybe I'm just becoming too distracted by this boy and maybe his waiting to-)
"Stop provoking him already since he is still confused and his emotions are unstable" Sir Tanner
scolded while I look at him and sigh.
"If I didn't do that what else might he do" I said in frustration and I suddenly realized what I said and I
looked at Sir Tanner who is a bit surprise making me groan in frustration.
"I... don't ... it's just that he--" I stutter while looking at him trying to explain myself but nothing came out
and I just groan in frustration of what is happening today.
"I get it you still care for others" he said and I look at him in annoyance since he was smirking.
"I just want not to make any more problems" I reasoned out hoping that he will believe it since I don't
get myself too.
(Why am I even worrying about that idiot?) I thought while massaging my temples.
Suddenly his crying face appears in my mind making me froze and then shake my head I frustration.
But still you could see that he is in pain making me sigh.
I was taken aback when I look at his crying face a while ago. I glance at him and kind of suddenly
looked sympathetic.
(What the heck... why am I also thinking about that) I scolded while looking at Sir Tanner who is looking
at his phone.
He looks at it in frustration while my angry dissipated and my expression relaxed. I tried to speak turn
around and speak to him since maybe I might have gotten overboard but my words were stuck in my
throat.
I didn't know what to say and what to do. I was hesitant to talk to him and maybe comfort him since he
is losing someone dear to him yet I still told those words.
"GLEN GET AWAY FROM THE DOOR" I heard Sir Tanner shouted making me look at him and he was
looking at Glen who is near the door.
I was surprised too that he was near the door and he was looking at it like he was just about to enter
the door.
He slowly turned around and looked at me. I was frozen in my feet when he looked at me. It was
evident in his eyes that he was determined and not hesitating.
I suddenly got a strange feeling making me look at him in shock.
I unconsciously move forward and get near him but suddenly he turns around and entered the door and
vanished in the smoke.
"Glen..." I unconsciously shouted when we went inside the smoke and I went to get near the door when
suddenly Sir Tanner stopped me and went in front of me.
I tried reaching my hand to grab him back but I was too late he was already gone.
"Tobios stop and don't " Sir Tanner said but I ignored him and tried to get near the door when suddenly
he shut the door close.
(I need to bring him back. He'll die out there... he'll.... he'll-)
Someone grabs me and then suddenly shake me uncontrollably making me snap back from my
thoughts.
"Tobios..... Tobios..... snap out of it and get a grip of yourself" he said and I just stare at him.
(What is happening to me... I'm confused why my body is acting weird)
"Calm down and let us think of a way" he said while looking me in the eye and I just nod before he
glanced around.
I look down and then look at the door where he disappeared.
(Why did he go there doesn't he know that he'll die there...)
(But why am I worried about him)
"He went inside there" I just simply said to myself in disbelief while trying to relax myself since my body
feels so strange.
(Yup I don't care whatever will happen to him. His just nobody to me) I thought to myself while fixing my
composure.
"I'm worrying for nothing if he wants to go in and die then let him be--" I mumble to myself but suddenly
his crying face appeared again to my mind making me sigh in frustration.
I hear Sir Tanner sigh and look at me then to the door where Glen just entered.
"Why didn't I stop him? If only I have looked at him then probably, I might have stopped him from going
in" he said in frustration while I just sit down on the chair and I’m feeling very troubled.
Suddenly his phone rings and he answered it. He looked at me in shock when he put down the phone
then fell silent and went to sit on his chair.
"What happened Sir?" I said when I saw him change expression.
"That is not the only Smoke of the dark abyss" he said and I looked at him in shock.
"Don't tell me that there are still more" I said in shock while getting pissed and look at him in frustration.
"Parts of the school are already being affected like someone had planted them all over the school" he
said making me look at him in confusion.
"How come smokes are usually cause by someone who is fallen can’t do that in case---" I was shocked
and look at him.
"Yup we are being under attacked and lots of warriors have been asked to help the school and recently
your father had fought with the perpetrator of this and you won't believe who it is" he said making me
think about what he had said.
"How is my father then and who is the perpetrator" I said getting worried about that old man even
though I don't have that good relationship with him.
"They are okay but the perpetrator manages to escape and it was the girl who your father brought in
that claimed to be a water elemental" he said and I immediate remember that girl who talked to me
back then.
"What" I said in confusion and he just sigh.
"The school had already started to evacuate everyone and as for now they haven't still saw enemies
around the school and just that scattered smokes just like that one outside" he said while looking at the
door.
I suddenly remember Glen who jumped inside the door.
"How about him?" I asked and he looked at me curiously making me glare at him.
"Aren't you concern he is still one of your student" I said and he looks at me before glancing back at the
door again.
"I think that kid knows something because he won't just enter that door if he doesn't have a plan
anyway" he said making me look at him in confusion.
"If you enter that place there is no turning back already" I argued making him look at me and smile.
"Then I guess you didn't listen to the discussion back in class. Besides these smokes won't just sit
there and won't come inside so we need to go now" he suddenly said and I turn around and saw that
the smoke is getting inside the room.
I tried to still make him talk but he ignored me and he went near the window. Then I suddenly
remember something and I turn around and look at the door.
"Don't tell me that this smoke was caused by that girl and he will try to--"
"BOOOOOOOOOOM" I heard the wall next to me exploded surprising me in shock.
He used his sword and smash the window and the whole window with a few cracks of the wall was
thrown outside making him make an alternative escape route for us.
"Well then come already since my priority is to get all students in sight away from danger and you're
not an exemption" he said making me stand up and walk near him.
But before that I glance back at the place where he disappeared. (Can I save him-) I shake my head
and then look in front when I felt someone’s hand grab my shoulders.
"Don't worry I think that he knows what he is doing beside if he can't get out then we will ask for help
since today is different from before that we still haven't develop something could help us enter the
smokes unharmed" he said and I suddenly remember than making me sigh.
"Then we better help the other and I already asked help and they will arrive here since they are busy
going inside the other smokes" he said and I nod before I then look at the door for the last time before I
look out near the open wall.
I look outside and I was shock and frozen in place. (What is really happening....) the whole school is in
chaos. And lots of warriors and other people are scattered around the place.

Ace's POV
I was running towards the other building since when I immediately heard that the building where my
brother is was suddenly covered with smokes of the dark abyss.
I got scared and I panic and run out of our room and went to find him since I was terrified when they
told me the news.
"My brother is strong but he lacks strong magic making him vulnerable ones he gets caught with the
smoke since it sucks down your magic until you die and considering my brother that has weak magic,
he would not last long" I mumble while I run and find the building.
"Please be okay Glen" I said while I suddenly started felling a heavy feeling in my chest.
"Your brother will have to stay at your grandparents since he is too weak to stay with us and he needs
to be trained before he could stay with us" that's what my mom said to me when my grandparents
came to our house one day.
"Mom I can train and protect him" I tried to reason out since I was really happy when I had a brother.
I had a playmate and a friend. I insisted that I would protect him and my parents just tears up that time
and then they let him stay and I always protected him but one time I didn’t protected him and he was
hurt.
My grandparents got alerted and told my parents that they should immediately take him to them and no
more delays.
"I don't want them to take him away again. I only had a few times to play with him and I still don’t know
him that close so I can’t afford to lose him again. I already had the chance to be a brother again and I
don't want to lose that" I said before I turned around the corner and see the smokes around the
building.
I scan the area and I can see it from here. You can even feel the strange feeling in the air that
something is happening here not to mention the dark clouds above the school.
The clouds were so thick and dark. You can think that it’s just a storm coming but if you look closely
then you would see the difference which is instead of spreading to the whole city it's only located above
the whole school premises.
"Please be safe..." I prayed as I ran towards the school.
By the time I arrived at the school I was so shock to see students all over the school grounds.
Mixes emotions where all over the surroundings even the atmosphere was so intense and different that
its hard to take it in.
You could hear students shouting the name of their friends with worry and pain, students shouting for
help, students that are being treated and students having trauma.
And most of all the scattered Smokes of the Dark Abyss around the school premises is making
everyone panic. I was totally frozen in place as I take in what I have just seen.
(What the hell is happening here? Why are smokes of the dark abyss here?)
Students are all outside the school. They're everywhere. Also, warriors are here also trying to secure
the smokes in place. Some were also trying to rescue the students inside the smoke.
With the help of all the potion makers that they had created a potion that could help us enter the smoke
without getting harmed.
Warriors used these to fight the enemies since they usually release these smokes around them.
Potion makers and casters were also treating the students and other victims around the area.
I immediately snap out of it and immediately went to the station of the potion makers and casters
hoping I would find him there.
I look around the station to find Glen. I scan the rooms and find nothing making me get worried even
more since I cant also find Kaylee.
(They are both always together then if I see one, I see them both) I thought while still looking around to
spot the one of them.
"Please don't tell me that-" I mumble to myself.
I run outside and try to look for him at all cost. I scan the surroundings trying to see if he was here
around the corner but still I haven’t found him.
I still look around but to my disappointment. I couldn't find him anywhere around the school.
Anxiety is already taking over my body thinking that my brother might have probably caught by the
smokes.
And thinking it makes my body weak and it feels like I will get crazy already if I won’t find him.
I turn to the corner and suddenly someone falls from the sky and stands in front of me making me stop
and step back immediately trying to get away from the person who fell down.
"Sorry about that. I didn't saw you were there" he said while turning around and look at me.
"Sir... sir Ta... Tanner" I stutter when he turned around and look at me.
I look up and saw where they come from. They have broken the wall and I think that maybe they have
used it as an escape route.
I then suddenly saw Tobios at the broken wall and his about to jump making me think of something.
He also jumped and then land on the ground safely next to Sir Tanner.
I looked at Tobios and hoped that he might have probably saw them both since they told me that they
are always fighting with them.
I immediately look at him and he was not looking at me in the eye making me get confused. Then I
looked at Sir and he was also silent making me suddenly realize something.
(This two know something.... Don't tell me--)
I can't stop myself so I just blurted it out. "Did you see were Glen and Kaylee are" I asked and they
both look at me then they sigh.
"Listen Ace we need to get to a safe place before we talk about anythi-"
"Wait you know something right. Where are they just tell me and I’ll go help them" I said cutting Sir
Tanner from ignoring my question.
"Sir where is-"
"He went inside the smoke" Tobios cuts me off and I look at him in shock.
"What do you mean he went inside the smoke?" I said and I was about to grab his collar when Sir
Tanner came in between us.
"Ace let him go we tried to stop him but he still insisted" Sir Tanner said while holding me in place.
I was mad that they didn't manage to make him stop but I look at them and get confused.
"Why did he go inside by the way?" I asked in confusion and Sir Tanner looked at me seriously.
"I think it’s because of Kaylee--" I didn’t hear the rest of the words of Sir Tanner because that is already
enough for me to understand the situation.novelbin
(If one of them always get in trouble the other will always help the other one)
I immediately run and tried to use my weapon and used it to climb the up the building since probably
they are just where these two came out.
But suddenly an explosion erupted on that place making me shout in worry.
"NOOOOO"
The wall is crumbling and it's going to fall down at the place where I am standing but still, I was rescued
by someone and the wall exploded into tiny pieces. And I immediately jump and dodge the falling
pieces.
