Chapter 75 What Does This Have To Do With You? Soon, both Damien and Clarissa were inside the

car. “Honey, have you gotten off work? Do you feel tired?” Clarissa simpered with a gentle tone. “Not

really,” Damien replied casually, sounding calm as he continued driving the car. “Oh. Well, I’m just

worried about you.” “What are you worried about? I’m not tired. We didn’t spend too much time having

sex yesterday night, so I’m fine,” Damien said casually. Clarissa’s face turned red all of a sudden. She

wasn’t hinting at that at all.

Why would he mention that all of a sudden?

She coughed slightly as she tried to think of a way to change the topic. “I received the email about the

new hires today. Is the company really hiring from within too?”

“Lucas will be interviewing the candidates next week,” Damien said.

“Next week?” Clarissa was shocked.

if that was the case, she wouldn’t have much time to fulfill any of the requirements! She hadn’t attained

her postgraduate certification yet, and she still wasn’t a certified accountant.

“What’s wrong? Does this have anything to do with you?” Damien seemed to be hinting that a low-level

employee like her shouldn’t even dream about getting a promotion.

Damien’s words were like knives stabbing into Clarissa’s heart.

“Am I really that useless to you?” Her face dropped as she sighed. Damien let out a carefree laugh.”Not

really, why? I thought you’re trying to resign.” At the mention of her resignation, Clarissa was left

speechless. She stuttered out the words. “I … I was just sick of my colleagues gossiping about me all

the time.” Damien sneered and thought, ‘Why isn’t she telling me the truth? That she was attracted by

Joseph’s charisma?’

“Are you interested in applying for a post in the Audit Department?” At the mention of work, Damien’s

tone became solemn.

“Well, 1… I’m still waiting to take the final exam to become a certified accountant. So. I’m… I’m thinking

of…” Since she was trying to persuade Damien into giving her the position, she softened her tone and

spoke with exaggerated politeness. “What do you want? Do you want a promotion to the Audit

Department?” Damien asked. “I…” Clarissa hesitated for a while, but in the end, she succumbed to her

wants and nodded.” Yes! I want to get into that department. I promise you, I’ll do a good job!”

“Why are you telling me this? I thought you’ve decided to resign.” Based on his tone, it was obvious

that Damien didn’t believe a word she said.

on would be a completchell, especially since Damien had taken advantage of her resignation and was

using it as a tool against her. If he knew that she had sent the job application form to Joseph, she

would be alrcady dead by now.

“I can’t promise you the post, Lucas is the one responsible for hiring his own candidates. Germans are

meticulous. You should already know that.”

Hearing that, Clarissa was stunned. ‘Did he just reject me?’ with her half-assed skills, she wouldn’t

even get through the first round of examination. “You should’ve just cut to the chase if you’re going to

reject me in the first place.” Clarissa frowned.

He tossed his head and looked at lier. “You’re finally showing your true colors now, huh?” Feeling

annoyed, she shifted her car seat and pretended to fall asleep Since she couldn’t get what she wanted,

she found it redundant to continue her conversation with Damien,

She closed her eyes, but her mind was still buzzing with her desire to be promoted to the Audit

Department.

When Damien was showering, Clarissa started working on her resume.

In the email, she would only be required to send a resume in English. However, she had decided to

send in another copy in German just to impress Lucas. She didn’t know German, but she could still

make full use of Damien’s proficiency.

Right after she finished writing her resume in English, Damien came out of the bathroom while drying

his wet liair with a towel. That was when he saw Clarissa in front of the laptop.

Clarissa turned and looked at Damien with dreamy eyes. “Honey, can you please help me do

something?”

“What is it?”

“Can you please translate my resume into German? Pretty please?” Clarissa begged sweetly, slipping

her hands into his.

“Clarissa, can you stop being so shameless?” She immediately softened her tone and explained, “I

know it’s shameless of me to ask, but I don’t understand a word in German. However, I still hope that I

can impress Lucas in some way. Plus, as your wife, doesn’t it look bad on you when I’m just a low-levelnovelbin

employee in the finance department? Shouldn’t I have a higher position to match your standing in the

company?” While speaking, Clarissa stood up and pressed Damien to sit on the chair. “I’ll massage

your back tonight. I’ll do everything you ask of me!” “Then go downstairs and spend time with

Grandpa,” Damien growled, though he was already putting his hand on the mouse.

“Right! I’ll go now.” Having said that, Clarissa sped downstairs.
