Chapter 535 The Past: Part 6

“Iris wanted to build her empire, and she also wanted to lose her virginity. In Lotharia, she watched as

Charles lost interest in her, and she thought that it was because she refused to sleep with him. She and

Charles had completely different mindsets.”

“Frank admired Iris, the actress, and Iris wanted to make use of his status in the business world. They

had a fling, and Frank helped her set up her film production company. Once Iris got what she wanted,

she kicked him to the curb and returned to Lotharia to look for Charles. However, he had left their

house without a word. Only Mrs. Dane was left.”

“Iris was furious at this, so she went to the attic to torment her sister.”

“The actual Iris gave birth to a daughter. She was obedient and beautiful, and she was her mother’s

sole comfort. To her surprise, her younger sister started treating her better during this period of time.

Unfortunately, this was only temporary. The fake Iris was waiting for a moment to come—a moment

where she could drive her sister mad.”

“With the improvement in her living conditions, the actual Iris started to gain weight, and her daughter

was able to grow healthily.”

“She even started to think that her daughter had awakened the fake Iris, or Mildred’s conscience, so

she wanted to treat her better.”

“But how could an ordinary person possibly understand a monster’s thoughts?”

“That day, Iris went to the attic and held the baby in her arms. With a smile, she said to her sister, ‘I’m

an aunt now, aren’t I? I have to ask you, though—do you think that you have the right to be someone’s

mother when you’re locked up in the attic? I don’t think so. Maybe I’ll do you a favor and send your

baby elsewhere.’”

“‘No!’ the actual Iris shrieked. She knew her sister was evil to the core, and she wasn’t just saying

these things for the fun of it. She was capable of anything.”

“The fake Iris laughed. She was delighted to see her sister in such pain.”

“Everything she had been through, she wanted her sister to experience tenfold.”

Clarissa felt extremely nauseous. She couldn’t take it anymore. The fake Iris was like a devil, and the

things she had done were beyond what a normal human would do. She was capable of anything, and

she didn’t have any bottom line. She could do such heartless things to a baby, let alone other people.

Clarissa could already tell how she and the actual Iris were related. She couldn’t help shuddering.

The old man continued with his story. “The fake Iris and her sister each had an emerald ring, which had

been given to them when they were born. She took her sister’s ring and wrapped it up together with the

baby before giving the baby away to a family in Florin. The man was named Steven Johnson, and the

woman was Theresa Hale.”

“Iris wasn’t being kind by leaving the ring with the baby. She wanted to use it as a way to track the baby

down so she could continue with her revenge. She wanted to get revenge on everyone related to the

Benson family…”

“Years later, Steven died, but nobody knows whether Iris had anything to do with it. Logically speaking,

she probably wasn’t behind it because she only managed to find the baby by looking for the ring. To

this day, she probably doesn’t know that Steven was the baby’s father. Moreover, after sending the

baby away, she had focused on expanding her empire.”

“Even if she did have something to do with Steven’s death, with her evil and scheming nature, she

would’ve made sure she couldn’t be implicated.”

“She had only sent the baby away. She didn’t know who had taken the baby in. After all, she was busy

expanding her empire, and a baby wasn’t enough to pique her interest. All the baby was useful for was

for her to continue exacting revenge on her sister.”

Clarissa was dumbfounded. It was as she had expected.
