Chapter 484 Wedding Night

Clarissa soon walked out of Bethany’s office.

“How is it?” Damien asked.

“See for yourself,” Clarissa spat coldly as she handed Damien the report. “Go get me the medicine.”

“Torn.” Damien read out what was written. “How tight are you to be torn?”

Clarissa gritted her teeth and chose to stay silent.

Three years had come and gone, yet he was still as shameless as ever.

Damien took the medicine from the counter. Clarissa was to apply them twice daily.

“I’ll help you with the medicine,” he teased her. “Otherwise, you wouldn’t even know where to apply it.”

“No need for that. I’m going back to Florin tomorrow.”

“That fast? We’ve been apart for three years, and you’re leaving again right after our wedding night?”

Damien was in a good mood, and even started joking with her.

Clarissa, on the other hand, wasn’t in the mood to joke around.

Though Clarissa had strong feelings for him three years ago, that was mainly because they were

married. Now, she realized he might not be the one for her.

Clarissa could be Neil’s mother, but definitely not Damien’s wife.

After they reached home, Clarissa went straight to the bedroom.novelbin

“Apply twice daily.” That was the instruction written on the medicine.

Clarissa could feel the part that hurt, but she couldn’t see properly.

Just as she was about to take off her clothes in the toilet, Damien strode in.

An awkward silence reigned.

Clarissa stared at him in shock, eyes wide open.

“How did you get in?” she snapped, quickly pulling her pants back up.

“It’s my house.”

Clarissa stood up and went out with the medicine. She couldn’t be bothered with him.

Damien stared at Clarissa’s back as she walked away.

“When are you leaving?” he asked.

Clarissa lifted her hand to check the time on her watch. It was already four o’ clock, and much too late.

“Latest by tomorrow noon. There’s a bunch of stuff I have to take care of. I can’t afford to lose this job,”

Clarissa said firmly.

“I wasn’t planning to make you lose your job, anyway. What were you thinking?”

“I…” Clarissa was lost for words.

She feared he would force her to stay and be his slave again. Once he gained control over her, it would

be difficult for to live her own life.

Damien seemed to know what Clarissa was thinking.

He soon left, and Clarissa could finally apply the medicine in peace.

She could hear Damien talking to someone through the phone, but their voices were too soft for her to

hear the conversation.

Damien didn’t do anything to Clarissa that night, mainly due to her ailment.

Clarissa recalled what Bethany told her earlier, but she knew she had no power to investigate anything.

The person next to her, however, was more than able to do so.

“Can you help me look into something?”

Damien flipped the magazine casually. “What?”

“Bethany told me someone asked for my hospital records, but I don't know who it is. Can you help me

look into that?” Clarissa requested.

“Call me hubby first.” Damien was still reading his magazine, seemingly nonchalant.

He made it sound like he would help her only if she called him hubby.

“Never mind! You can’t possibly investigate anything, anyway.”

With that, Clarissa gave up asking and went back to sleep.
