Chapter 478 Touching Reunion Between Ex-lovers

Soon, Ray sent the link to Damien. When he clicked on it, all he saw was that the livestream had yet to

start.

Clarissa and the others entered the hotel and grabbed some food before heading into the venue.

Agendas were placed on each seat. The speaker list comprised internationally renowned financial

professionals as well as experts from Wall Street. There was even going to be a mystery guest at the

very end.

“Who’s the mystery guest, Miss Johnson?” Lisa asked. She was seated to Clarissa’s left, while Rem

was on Clarissa’s right.

“There are a lot of renowned people in the financial industry. Your guess is as good as mine!”

“I bet the mystery guest is someone really special! Let’s wait and see.”

Ray kept looking around, trying to spot Clarissa, but to no avail. The venue was just too huge for him.

Throughout the whole summit, Clarissa was completely focused.

She was stunned speechless when the mystery guest finally made his appearance. It was Joseph

Moore!

The host’s excitement was evident. “Our next speaker is Genovia’s most renowned accountant, who’s

also now a financier. Let’s welcome Joseph Moore as he gives us a talk about sovereign wealth fund

investment!”

“Wow! Miss Johnson, the mystery guest is so handsome! His name’s Joseph Moore, right? Have you

heard of him before?” The sight of a handsome man sent Lisa into throes of excitement.

Clarissa simply mumbled something incoherent in agreement.

She appraised Joseph. He too was now wearing glasses.

How did two people give off completely different auras even though they were both wearing glasses?

One looked like a proper and dapper gentleman, while the other looked like a despicable thug.

Joseph had a pleasant and soothing voice, and he spoke gently. His speech mentioned a lot of

important points, but he also made it funny and interesting.

Clarissa’s astonishment over Joseph’s unexpected appearance didn’t last. Before long, she began to

take notes seriously.

The summit ended at around 6:00 p.m. Everyone adjourned to the banquet hall.

The hall was just as huge. While she was getting some fruits, Clarissa accidentally bumped into

someone.

“Sorry,” she said reflexively.

“Clarissa?” the other party said, sounding elated.

Looking up, Clarissa saw that it was Joseph. He pushed his glasses up, his excitement obvious.

“Mr. Moore.” She already knew that he was here, so she wasn’t as shocked as he was.

“I would’ve never expected to run into you here! Where have you been the past few years?”

Joseph could hardly believe his eyes. Though there were plenty of people in the financial industry at

this summit, he didn’t expect Clarissa to be one of them. After all, he hadn’t heard anything about her

for many years.

“I’ve completed my doctorate in Lotharia, and now, I’m a lecturer at the University of Florin. I brought

two of my students to attend today’s summit,” Clarissa explained.

“Is that so? That’s great!” Seeing Clarissa again made Joseph ecstatic. So much so, that he looked like

he was on the verge of crying.

After all, Clarissa was someone he had fallen for at first sight.

He took his glasses off and wiped his tears.

Without warning, he pulled her into an affectionate hug.

“Long time no see.”

Clarissa didn’t break free, merely saying, “Long time no see.”

Joseph had helped Clarissa more times than she could count. He had given her a journal andnovelbin

countless reference books, and they had even started a firm together. It had been three years since

they had last seen each other, and both were more than glad to rekindle their relationship.

This was a reunion between two good friends.

“Have you changed your number? What is it?” He pulled his phone out.

Clarissa gave him her new number.

At this moment, someone applauded. “Alas, what a touching reunion between ex-lovers! You’re acting

like you just parted yesterday.” A shrill, harsh voice rang out sarcastically.

Clarissa looked past Joseph’s shoulder. He, too, turned around and followed her line of sight.
