Chapter 476 Don’t Be Like Your Mother

Three days later, at the university’s entrance.

Clarissa had a hand on her luggage as she peered around anxiously.

“Lisa isn’t going to be a no-show, is she?” she said to Rem as she checked her watch.

“Don’t worry, I called her when I left my dorm. She hasn’t forgotten.”

“The meeting starts at one o’ clock, and we’re going to take three and a half hours to get there by bus.

It’ll probably be ten by the time we get to the bus station. It’s all my fault for not knowing how to drive!”

Clarissa stomped her foot anxiously.

Suddenly, a car stopped in front of them.

“What are you doing?” The window rolled down, and a man’s voice rang out.

Rem had been feeling anxious as well, but she broke into a bright smile when she saw who it was.

“Oh, Professor Lawrence! We’re waiting for someone,” she said politely.

Clarissa turned around when she heard “Professor Lawrence”. Who else could it be but Damien?

Why did it sound so weird to address him that way, though?

Damien’s gaze flitted toward Clarissa’s luggage. “Where are you going?”novelbin

“We’re going to attend a financial summit in Genovia, sir. We’re going to take the bus there,” Rem

explained.

“She’s finally here.” Clarissa was looking in the direction of the university. Lisa was jogging toward them

with a huge suitcase.

“The three of you are going to Genovia?” Damien said. “Why don’t you go with me, then? I’m heading

back to Genovia as well.”

Lisa finally ran up to them, trying to catch her breath.

Clarissa checked the time. It was already a quarter to ten. By the time they got to the bus station, it’d

be ten thirty, and they still had to unpack at the hotel. They would definitely be late.

“Come on, let’s get in.”

Damien had just switched to a bigger Bentley, and the three of them had no problems getting in.

Lisa and Rem sat in the backseat, leaving Clarissa with no choice but to sit in the passenger seat.

There was no way she could sit with them. Neil was in the backseat as well.

He was ecstatic to see Clarissa get into the car. “Mommy, you’re here!”

She was buckling herself in. “Huh? Oh, yeah.”

There were no words to describe Lisa and Rem’s surprise. They didn’t dare to say anything out loud,

so they could only exchange confused glances.

They looked at Neil. Had they heard him right? He was Damien’s son, and he had called Clarissa

“Mommy”.

“Mommy, where are you going? Daddy can send you there,” Neil said.

Now, Lisa and Rem were positive Neil had addressed Clarissa as “Mommy”.

So, how were Damien and Clarissa related?

“I’m headed for Pentagon Hotel.” Clarissa looked at Damien. “Is it convenient for you to drop us there?”

“Why would it be inconvenient?” he asked in return.

He drove fast, but they didn’t feel it. After all, it was a Bentley that cost six to seven million dollars. It

was much more comfortable than taking a bus.

Lisa and Rem were texting each other in the back seat.

Lisa: [I wasn’t hearing things, right? Since when has Miss Johnson had a son this age?]

Rem: [How would I know?]

Lisa was silent, just as befuddled.

Clarissa kept looking out the window. There was one thing she didn’t understand—in the past when

she had gone to Genovia from Florin, she hadn’t passed by the University of Florin. Why did they have

to this time?

She had taken a bus back to Genovia the last time, and the route they had taken was completely

different from this one.

“Why did you guys pass by the University of Florin?” Clarissa asked when she sensed that the mood in

the car felt a little awkward.

“Your son insisted on seeing his great-grandfather’s university,” Damien answered.

His words made Lisa and Rem jolt.

“I mainly wanted to see whether we could run into Mommy. And look, we did!” Neil piped up.
