Chapter 453 What Was the Point?

“Mrs. Lawrence, why don’t you and President Lawrence make up? You two love each other so deeply,

and you should give yourself a chance to be happy. Mr. Lawrence’s parents have gone back to

Amestris, so no one’s going to upset you anymore.” Mrs. Faber tried her best to persuade Clarissa. In

fact, she was also saying this for Caleb’s sake.

Clarissa smiled bitterly. “It’s all in the past now. We have to move on.”

“Oh, right. What plans do you have for Columbus Day?” Mrs. Faber asked.

Caleb clenched his fists. He had intended to invite Clarissa out for hiking.

“I haven’t decided.”

“Why don’t you make a trip to Genovia?” Mrs. Faber held her hand. “That’s your hometown, and you

don’t even know that Lily got married.”

Clarissa gave it some thought. “Alright.”

Mrs. Faber smiled. To tell the truth, she felt exhausted. She had to help Caleb out of this situation, andnovelbin

she had to help Clarissa and Damien make up. At the same time, she couldn’t allow Caleb to

misunderstand her. He was her everything.

They stayed at the restaurant for two hours, but the dishes were barely touched.

They were finally done at around nine o’ clock.

Clarissa nudged Caleb. “Come on, let’s go back to the university.”

However, Caleb got to his feet and bolted.

Mrs. Faber called out to him a few times, but he didn’t turn back.

“He’ll be fine, Mrs. Faber. You should head back.”

And so, Mrs. Faber reluctantly went back to Grandpa Lawrence’s house.

Damien was reading on the sofa, and Ray was tucking Neil in.

“Did you see your son’s crush?” he asked.

“Bah, he doesn’t have a crush! I saw Clarissa, though. She’s his accounting lecturer, and she said

she’ll definitely take good care of him. No wonder you wanted to stay here, Mr. Lawrence, seeing as

she’s here.” Mrs. Faber forced out a smile.

“No, not exactly. I do have work to do here.”

“Mr. Lawrence, why don’t you and Clarissa get back together? There’s nothing keeping you two from

each other, right? Clarissa’s already got her doctorate, and she doesn’t really have anything to worry

about now. She won’t keep thinking about wanting to leave the country. In fact, she promised to go

back to Genovia on Columbus Day.”

Damien looked up. “What for?”

“I told her Lily got married. Maybe she feels guilty for missing it and wants to go see her best friend.”

“Alright.”

Damien had managed to break Clarissa and Caleb up without even lifting a finger.

Ray came out of the bedroom.

“Caleb’s crush is Clarissa?!” he said. He looked a little surprised, but he sounded confident.

Ray was no fool. He had overheard Mrs. Faber’s conversation with Damien. Judging from how Damien

had been suppressing his rage lately, he guessed that Caleb had a thing for Clarissa.

After Mrs. Faber retreated to her room, Ray went to Damien’s room.

“Are you still mad? Don’t you think Clarissa handled this well? Also, shouldn’t you be proud that a boy

toy is interested in your ex-wife? I was wondering why you’ve been so pissed off these few days. Come

on, don’t be mad anymore.”

“Shouldn’t I be?”

“You should, but hasn’t Clarissa already solved the problem? She was the one who asked to see Mrs.

Faber, wasn’t she? If Caleb has any sense of decency, he won’t be chasing after her anymore. Since

she’s going back to Genovia on Columbus Day, do you want to?”

Damien was lying on the bed. He narrowed his eyes and said, “No.”

Since Clarissa was going back to Genovia, it would only be right for her to find out about his Instagram.

After all, he had only posted photos there to get at her. If she didn’t know anything about it, what was

the point?
