Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 448

Chapter 448 We Can’t Leave Our Pimp Behind “Also...?” Damien asked.

“She wants me to be there as well.”

“Are you going to go, then?”

“It depends on my schedule. I have classes, and I need to write a paper. Anyway, this is a meeting

between old classmates. Why should I be there?” “You don‘t want to go? Let her know, then.”

Clarissa was speechless. Why did they both want her there? “I‘m not a matchmaker. Why do I have to

be there?” she muttered huffily. “We can‘t leave our pimp behind.” Damien was mocking her for sayingnovelbin

that she was a matchmaker.

“Then...” Clarissa checked her schedule. “Tomorrow night? Are you going back to Genovia?”

“No.I need to keep an eye on things, now that we’ve just signed the contract.” Clarissa nodded slowly.

“How about at half past six? I‘ll let Chanel know.” Damien didn‘t say anything. It was a silent

acquiescence. He knew Chanel pretty well. She had a crush on him for many years, but no matter how

hard one tried to hide their feelings, time would eventually reveal the truth. This was why people had

made fun of her when he and Clarissa had gotten married a few years back. As someone with a

doctorate, this was a huge blow to her ego, so she married someone to show she wasn‘t hung up on

Damien. The man had agreed to marry Chanel because of her status as a highly educated university

lecturer, but he was actually in love with someone else. His lover had become a volunteer teacher, so

he told Chanel he was going to be one as well. In fact, he had only gone there to be with his lover.

Later on, the man died. Apparently, he had died of excessive sexual activity. Since he was a volunteer

teacher, the true reason for his death had not been disclosed to protect his reputation. Chanel had

become a widow, but it was better than being known for having a lifelong crush on a man who had

married someone else. She didn‘t want to become a joke.

Moreover, she had gone around telling people that she had long since given up on Damien and was

head over heels for her husband.

Damien was actually quite unnerved to see Chanel. He couldn‘t help but find her thoughts rather

twisted.

Yet, Clarissa was actually the one bringing them together.

The irony... Damien dropped Clarissa off at the university before returning home.

Clarissa hurried back to Marble Garden. Earlier, Caleb had said that he would come to see her when

he was back, and she was afraid that she would run into Connie.

She wanted to find out how Caleb and Damien were related, but Damien hadn’t said a word about it.

When Damien got home, Neil had just fallen asleep. “Why did you put him to bed at this hour? How‘s

he going to sleep tonight?” Damien asked Ray, frowning “We had a lot of fun with water guns, and he

was exhausted. Anyway, whether he can sleep at night has nothing to do with me. That‘s your

problem.”

Damien was speechless.

Ray was happy to see his expression. “So, you‘ve signed the contract?” Damien sat down and flung his

briefcase at Ray. “Yeah. I‘m going to stay here to keep an eye on things.”

“Wow! You‘re single–handedly taking on the jobs of the commerce, finance, and legal departments.

Why do we even need so many employees?” Ray teased. “We didn‘t even need you to sign the

contract, let alone to keep an eye on things. Why are you sticking around in Florin? Reminiscence for

your hometown?”

“Fuck off.”

“It‘s fine for you to miss your hometown, but why do I have to be your nanny? Do you think it‘s easy for

me to be both a mother and father to your child? I‘m a Ph.D. holder, you know...”

“You can get lost if you don‘t want to do it.” Ray stood there. “Let‘s just take it that I enjoy doing this.”

Damien got up to head back to his bedroom.

“I’ve sent you your son’s photos for today.” Damien‘s phone chimed as he shut the door.
