Chapter 444 You’re Here, Mr. Lawrence The car was started after that. Twenty minutes later, they

arrived at Eden Investment Corporation.

Connie bade goodbye with Caleb reluctantly.

“Connie, you should understand what’s going on here. You need to know who gave you everything you

have today. Don‘t go around digging your own grave!” Cindy warned. Connie felt that her mother‘s

words were much too harsh, so she retaliated on the spot. “What did I do, huh? Why must you be so

harsh? Are you saying that whatever I own in this lifetime is given to me by someone else? Am I a

useless cripple to you?” “Don’t forget what Iris wants you to do here! She wants you to pair Clarissa

and Caleb together! This isn‘t a trip for you to find your soulmate! Besides, I don‘t like that boy. All he

does is spend money without earning any! Does he have his own house? What about a car? Does he

even have savings?” Cindy‘s polite demeanor toward Caleb had already crumbled. Instead, she put on

airs as she continued screaming at Connie. “Don‘t you dare ignore the path leading to heaven that’s

been laid for you beforehand! In the end, you‘ll just spiral your way into self–destruction. Your future will

be the price that you‘ll have to pay!”

“Fine!” Connie replied in irritation. “You can go shopping on your own!” Cindy stormed out of the car

angrily and went ahead without looking back. Connie parked her car directly across Eden Investment

Corporation. Once Caleb was done with his internship of the day, he would have to leave the building

via the main entrance. Typically speaking, interns didn‘t have long working hours, so Connie was more

than willing to spend her afternoon waiting for him. After Caleb arrived at Eden Investment, he went to

see Charles straight away. The latter liked him a lot, since he was handsome and high–spirited. Not

only that, but he also looked neat and tidy. Charles assigned some miniscule chores to Caleb for the

time being so the latter could get used to the new environment. “We‘ll be signing a contract with New

East Corporation later on. You‘ll be in charge of serving us tea,” Charles said. “Can you do that?”

“No problem,” Caleb agreed immediately.

When Caleb heard the mention of New East Corporation, it made him even happier. ‘No wonder Mr.

Lawrence’s been staying in Florin all this time. He has a collaboration with Eden Investment

Corporation!’

Of course, Caleb was delighted to see Damien.

Naturally, he would be even happier if he could meet up with Clarissa. When Caleb went to serve tea in

the conference room, he noticed Clarissa sitting there.

There were a few people seated around the conference table as well. All of them were busy going over

their documents. “Have some tea.” Caleb stood next to Clarissa’s seat with a thermos flask in hand.

Clarissa had been reading the documents in front of her attentively. She was also wearing

glasses at the time. The glasses made her look innocent yet sensual at the same time. Excitement

started coursing through Caleb‘s veins; whenever Clarissa had her glasses on, she looked very

intelligent, which attracted him greatly. Right now, she just sat there quietly. Yet, Caleb felt very

comfortable around her. This was a feeling that he had never experienced before. Clarissa had yet to

notice Caleb.

“Thanks,” she replied casually. She even flipped through another page of the contract. Clarissa

intended to familiarize herself with the contents one more time before the official signing began. “You’re

welcome, Miss Johnson.” Clarissa tilted her head in surprise, finally noticing Caleb next to her. A light

frown soon graced her features. “Why are you here?” she asked. “Have you forgotten what I told you?

I‘m here as an intern.” After Clarissa got the answer, she turned her head away and decided not to

reply to Caleb. It would be a lie if she said that Caleb’s presence in Eden Investment wouldn’t affect her

performance. “Mr. Lawrence, you‘re here!” Caleb turned around to see Damien entering the conferencenovelbin

room. He greeted Damien enthusiastically.

Caleb was a young man who viewed the world through rose-tinted glasses. He was a kind soul who

believed in everything that was good in this world. He also believed that everyone around him had a

kind heart.

“Yes,” Damien answered curtly. He glanced at Clarissa, who had her back turned on him and was

sitting next to Caleb. They were constantly together, and were very affectionate with each other. That

was Damien’s first impression of Clarissa and Caleb.
