Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 428

Chapter 428 Goosebumps Just now, Neil wanted his father to ask that pretty lady from before, Clarissa,

to take care of him because he was sick. However, Damien wouldn’t budge no matter what.

Neil didn’t understand why Damien wouldn’t give pursuing Clarissa a try. After all, Clarissa was a

beautiful and kind woman who was most suited to become his mother. Seeing how much Damien

hated the idea of pursuing Clarissa, Neil was shocked to see Damien agreeing to stay at Florin after

just a little bit of convincing. Caleb didn’t stay for dinner. After he left, Neil kept asking for Clarissa to

come to Grandpa’s house.

“Are you sure you want a stranger to become your mother?” Damien scolded Neil.

“Daddy, you’re lying! Don’t you know that people who lie will have long noses? If she really is a

stranger, why would she appear in front of Grandpa’s house? I’m sure she knows you! If you don’t

invite her to Grandpa’s house today, I won’t go to bed tonight!” Neil was sharp enough to discover that

Clarissa wasn’t a stranger.

“If you want her to come here so badly, call her yourself!” Damien threw his phone to Neil.novelbin

“What’s her phone number, Daddy?” Neil searched through Damien’s contact list, but he still couldn’t

find Clarissa’s name. “13601303248.” Although Damien seemed to be deeply engrossed in reading a

book, he blurted out the numbers naturally. “If you don’t know her, why do you know her phone

number?” Neil muttered under his breath. While Neil was calling Clarissa’s number, Clarissa was

sending a WhatsApp message to someone.

She was sending a message to both Lisa and Rem, informing them to meet her at The Finance

Department’s office. She wanted to assign the topics of their thesis to them.

Before she could press the ‘send’ button, Clarissa’s phone rang. Apparently, it was from Damien.

Looking at Damien’s phone number, Clarissa knew Neil was the one calling her.

Somehow, they felt connected together.

She received the call, and was happy to hear Neil’s voice.

“Clarissa, hello!” The moment she received the call, Neil cried out loud.

Listening to his crying voice, her heart went out to him.

“Neil, what’s wrong? Don’t cry!” Clarissa consoled him with a gentle tone.

“Clarissa, I caught a cold and I really want you to stay by my side today. Is that okay?”

When Clarissa heard that Neil was sick, her heart was shattered into a million pieces. She asked, “Did

you ask your father about this? What did he say?” “He said yes.”

“Alright, i’ll head over right now.” After hanging up, Clarissa sent the WhatsApp message to Lisa and

Rem before she packed her things and headed to Grandpa’s place. Along the way, she was fueled with

anxiety, fearing she might be targeted by Iris.

If she met Neil now, all her efforts of avoiding Iris for three years would’ve gone to waste.

Since Grandpa’s house was just a stone’s throw away from the University of Florin, Clarissa arrived in

no time.

Damien was the one who answered the door for her. “Neil called me just now and told me he’s sick. I’m

here to accompany him through the night, “Clarissa explained thoroughly. She was worried Damien

might have misunderstood her intentions.

Now that she had pursued her academics and career advancement, Damien would never sit still and

let her have what she wanted.

Damien didn’t even bother to reply, and let her inside silently. When Neil saw Clarissa, he was beyond

excited. He quickly took her hand and sat on the sofa.

As Neil never had a mother, he liked having Clarissa around the house. “Clarissa, why didn’t you meet

me at the park that night? You promised you’d come!” Neil was obviously still holding a grudge against

Clarissa. “What do you mean?” Clarissa frowned. Only then did she remember she had forgotten to call

Neil back then after being distracted by Caleb. “I forgot to call you back. Can you please forgive me?”

Clarissa asked. “Don’t do it again, okay? Pinky promise?” When Clarissa saw Neil’s innocent

expression, she couldn’t help but chuckle. Such a sweet and innocent kid!

“Neil, go and brush your teeth first. I have to talk to Clarissa for a moment,” Damien said. At that,

Clarissa could feel goosebumps all over her body.
