Chapter 313 How Had Damien Helped Her?

Clarissa and Damien soon got into bed.

He had his arms around her. The warmth from his body enveloped her.

“Don’t you know who I like?” he mumbled from behind her. His breath fanned out over her neck, tickling

her.

His words made her heart tremble.

This was his first time saying that he liked her.

“How would I know?” Clarissa suddenly felt her heart warm. “When we were at a restaurant, you even

told me not to ask about a man’s past.”

“Does it bother you?” he asked.

She closed her eyes. “No.”

“That’s fine, then.” He continued calmly, “Can we do it today?”

“No!”

“I’ll take it slow.”

“No way! You always say that you’ll take it slow, but…” Clarissa was already shuddering.

Before she could finish her sentence, Damien silenced her with his lips.

As he kissed her, his hands roamed over her body, setting her on fire.

If she were to stop him now, she would be the one to explode.

He was a bastard!

The next day, Clarissa still felt exhausted. She woke up late, and Damien had long since left.

She gave it some thought and changed his contact name to “Sex Fiend“.

It was all he thought of. It fit him perfectly.

Leah drove her to the company. On the way there, her phone kept chiming.

As Clarissa waited for the elevator, she saw Madelynn coming out from another one.

Madelynn merely glanced at her before leaving. She looked pleased with herself.

Had she come to ask Damien for help to get her out of her current predicament?

Clarissa was furious, but she didn’t say anything.

After a busy morning, she sent Lily a WhatsApp message.

Clarissa: [Let’s have lunch in the conference room again.]

Lily was on edge because of what had happened in Pentatone County. When she saw Clarissa’s

message, she couldn’t help thinking that Clarissa was trying to get the truth out of her.

Lily: [Sure.]

But she told herself that she couldn’t let Clarissa find out the truth about her grandmother’s

Clarissa had a plan, though. Since Lily had gone to the trouble of warning her to be careful, she and

Landon had probably already heard about Connie dishing the dirt on Madelynn. At the same time, they

must‘ve heard other things. For instance, the reason behind Connie doing so. Why didn‘t they want to

tell her? There was something that they were scared of her finding

out.

Why were they scared? Clarissa decided to wring the truth out of Lily!

When Clarissa got to the conference room, Lily was already waiting for her.

“Sorry I‘m late. I’m not in a good mood,” she said, looking like she‘d lost her appetite. “What

happened?” Lily asked. “I already found out about what happened to my grandmother. I‘m so angry!”

“How did you find out about it?!” Lily looked surprised. Judging from Lily‘s question, she definitely knew

the truth. She just hadn‘t told Clarissa aboutnovelbin

“Landon told me. I asked him about it, and he couldn‘t take the pressure. He told me everything.”

Clarissa played with her food, pretending to look desolate. Lily was stunned. “He told you?”

Clarissa nodded.

“Clarissa, don’t be sad! I know your grandmother died a terrible death. Connie stood by and allowed

her to be burned to death, and Madelynn‘s no better! She sent something flammable to Connie. The

two of them are so evil that I can‘t even comprehend it!” Lily held Clarissa‘s hand. “Stay strong!”

Clarissa was stunned.

She knew something was afoot with her grandmother‘s death, but she never would’ve expected the

truth to be so cruel. Connie and Madelynn deserved to die. Her hands trembled. Madelynn had left

Damien‘s office, looking pleased. So, how had Damien helped her?
