Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 296

Chapter 296 Snatched The Ring Connie had initially come to her grandmother‘s room to escape the

awkward atmosphere Damien had created. She was going to just leave the water before leaving, but

now, her curiosity was piqued. What sort of ring was that?

“The one that was given to you.” Her grandmother didn‘t know what else to say, and looked very

anxious.

Clarissa and Damien had only registered their marriage and hadn‘t had a wedding ceremony, so she

didn‘t have a ring. Clarissa hadn‘t bothered to buy one herself either, so she really didn‘t know what

ring her grandmother was referring to.

Suddenly, she remembered. Her grandmother was probably referring to the ring Theresa had given her

to prove her parentage.

Clarissa had kept it in her wallet this whole time and hadn‘t touched it. She didn‘t even know whether it

was still there.

“Let me look for it.” After that, she rummaged through her bag.

To her surprise, she managed to find it.

“This one?” Clarissa put the ring in her grandmother‘s hand.

The old lady‘s eyesight had deteriorated. She held it up and kept looking at it.

Connie‘s heart jolted at the sight of the ring. She had seen a lot of props while filming, so she knew that

the ring was made of emerald. It looked like Clarissa‘s actual family was pretty well–off. Connie

wondered how she could get the ring for herself.

Someone opened the door from outside.

Connie knew that her father had come home.

Inspiration struck her, and she sent Cindy a WhatsApp message.

Connie: [Mom, find a reason to get into an argument with Dad, quick! Try to get Clarissa out of here!]

Cindy was surprised to see this message, but she knew she had to play her part as thanks for Connie

getting them out of Pentatone County.

She didn‘t even need a reason to get into a fight with Peter. The moment she laid eyes on him, she

could already feel her blood boiling.

“Why are you only back at this hour? Where‘d you go this time? You earn more than you spend!” Cindy

immediately started running her mouth off.

Ever since Peter‘s calf had atrophied, his personality had changed. He had never been a man of many

words, but he had now become a little twisted. He had just spent the

matched the RIO

whole day on his feet, and he reached his limit when he heard his wife screaming her head off at him.

“What have I done to offend you?! Are you out of your mind? Why do you keep picking on me?” Peter

retorted.

As expected, the two of them got into a fight.

Damien remained seated and watched them without saying a word.

“What‘s going on with my parents? I’ll go take a look,” Connie said, almost to herself.

“Uncle Peter‘s back. I’ll go and say hi to him.” Clarissa was afraid things would take an ugly turn.

Connie pretended to let her out first. She opened the door for Clarissa.

The moment Clarissa stepped out of the room, Connie shot back to her grandmother‘s side and saidnovelbin

sharply, “Give it to me!”

She snatched the ring and put it into her pocket.

“Wait...” Her grandmother wasn‘t too lucid. She was about to say something, but Connie had already

shut the door.

Peter and Cindy‘s argument was escalating. Even though Peter saw Damien sitting on the sofa, he

didn‘t greet him.

In fact, he became even angrier when he saw how well–dressed Damien was. He felt that Cindy had to

be comparing him to Damien.

“Say that one more fucking time!” Peter saw red. He grabbed the mop from beside the door and walked

toward Cindy.

“Help, I‘m going to die! My husband‘s going to hit me! This useless piece of trash is going to beat his

own wife up because he can‘t make ends meet!” Cindy shrieked.

“Who the fuck‘s going to kill you? I‘d only be dirtying my own hands!” Peter roared.

“Clarissa, I‘m sorry you had to see this. You and President Lawrence should hurry up and leave. I don‘t

want to scare your babies. I‘m really sorry.” Connie pushed Clarissa from behind, looking apologetic.

Clarissa patted Peter on the hand. “Uncle Peter, calm down. A family will only prosper when it‘s in

harmony.” “You‘re leaving already, Clary?” Peter‘s rage subsided a little when he saw her. “Yes. You

and Aunt Cindy talk things out properly, alright?” After that, Clarissa waved a hand at Damien.

He got up and they left.

Damien was already beyond irritated with this family.

They went downstairs.
