Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 293

Chapter 293 Little Tricks After work, Damien came upstairs to look for Clarissa.

He frowned slightly when he saw the smoothies.

“Smoothies again?” he asked.

“I had a craving for them,” Clarissa answered absent–mindedly. She was still hard at work.

She reached out to grab one of the smoothies for a sip when Damien took it away.

“Why are you such a control freak? You want to control what I wear and drink! Is there anything that

you don‘t want to control?” She questioned him, looking up at him.

“So, you‘re throwing a fit over this?” Damien asked.

“I‘m not throwing a fit. I just like smoothies.”

Damien‘s expression softened. “Go on, then.”

The sudden change in his attitude confused Clarissa. He... wasn‘t going to control her anymore? If so,

then she didn‘t really want to drink the smoothies anymore.

She was acting like a child. If Damien wanted to control her, she would feel like rebelling. If he stopped

bothering her, she would no longer want to go against him.

So what did he mean by this?

Clarissa had failed to get a reaction out of him. Instead, she made herself feel anxious.novelbin

“I‘ll wait for you there.” After that, Damien sat down on the sofa nearby.

He even took the audit department‘s monthly report and started going through it.

“This audit‘s a little tough. I‘ll need to think things through when I get home.” Janet was quick to react

and packed the files up to bring home with her.

Clarissa and Damien were left alone in the office. She couldn‘t help feeling restless. What exactly did

he mean? She was no longer paying attention to her work. “Why aren‘t you drinking?” Damien‘s gaze

traveled from the monthly report to Clarissa‘s figure. “I‘m busy working.” Damien smiled knowingly.

Clarissa had probably gotten angry because she thought he was being too controlling,

so she‘d ordered the smoothies just to get back at him. At the same time, she wanted to use them to

test whether he knew that the babies were his.

If they weren‘t his, he wouldn‘t bother about them.

From this point alone, Damien could tell that the babies were definitely his. If they belonged to

someone else, why would she be testing him?

Her little tricks!

He would wait and see when she would finally tell him.

She had a long way to go to outsmart him.

He would wait till the day she personally told him the truth.

Once Clarissa was done with her work, she packed her things up.

“You haven‘t finished your smoothies yet? Why didn‘t you drink them?” Damien pointed at the

smoothies.

“They‘re all cold now, and I‘ll get a stomach ache if I drink them. I don‘t want to anymore!” She threw

them into the trash can.

She couldn‘t help feeling depressed that she hadn‘t managed to see what Damien knew, and instead

allowed him to have the upper hand.

Anyway, using the smoothies to test him was a little too simple. Maybe he just wanted to control her to

satisfy his desire to conquer her, and that it had nothing to do with the babies being his. She couldn‘t do

anything about that, could she?

On the way down, Clarissa received a call from an unknown caller.

She thought it was a prank call, but it turned out to be Cindy, her auny.

“Clary, we‘ve moved to Genovia with your grandmother, and she‘s been asking for you for the past few

days. When are you coming to see her?” Cindy didn‘t sound too friendly.

Clarissa felt inexplicably irritated when she heard Cindy‘s voice. She wasn‘t aware that her

grandmother had come to Genovia as well.

“How about this Saturday, after lunch?” There was no way she would eat Cindy‘s cooking again.

“You‘d better hurry. She‘s not doing too well, and she‘s running out of time.” Cindy added, “I’ll ask

Connie to send you the address later.”

Clarissa was taken aback. A wave of sadness washed over her as she thought about her beloved

relatives leaving her one by one.

“How about this evening, then?” She suddenly understood. Cindy wouldn‘t call her unless it was

absolutely necessary. Since she‘d bothered to call, it had to beurgent, “Alright. Don‘t forget about this,”

Cindy said,

Clarissa‘s phone chimed soon after. Connie had sent her the address.

Connie: (Are you coming to our house this evening?]

Clarissa: (Yeah, to see Grandma.)

She didn‘t want Connie to know she was going to see her grandmother, but it didn‘t look like she could

keep it under wraps.

Connie didn‘t say anything else.

Clarissa had a gut feeling that Connie was secretly planning something.

‘I have to be extremely careful when I get there.‘

She wanted Damien to accompany her.

“Can you accompany me to my grandmother‘s place?” Clarissa asked him.

“Where is she?” he asked in return.
