Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 282

Chapter 282 Aren‘t We Already Divorced?

Upon reaching home, Clarissa decided to rest in her room as she was very exhausted.

She received a Whatsapp message on her phone.

Lily: (Clarissa, Landon‘s birthday is on January twenty–fifth. I told you I’d invite you to his birthday party,

so you have to come.)

Clarissa immediately recalled what Lily told her, which made her feel awkward. Clarissa: (I don‘t think I

should go. I‘m in my third trimester, after all.]

Lily: [If you refuse to go, then Landon won‘t celebrate his birthday. My older sister was the one who told

me his birthday today. He never celebrated the occasion in the past, so I told him that you and I would

celebrate his birthday with him this year. He sounded quite surprised, but he did agree to it in the end.

This year, we‘ll go have fun somewhere with a lot of greenery. The view and the fresh air will be great

for a pregnant woman like you.]

Clarissa: [Are you trying to court him, or are you using me as an excuse to court him?]

Lily was speechless.

After a long time, she finally replied. Lily: [I know he‘ll only come when you‘re there.)

Clarissa: [Then I’ll tell Damien to go with us as well. I wonder if he‘ll agree to that.)

Lily: (That‘s a great idea! We‘ll have a double date in the outdoors! It just so happens that Landon‘s

birthday is on a Saturday!]

Clarissa felt that Lily used the wrong method of trying to gain Landon‘s affection. Lily tended to do

anything she could just to make Landon happy, no matter the cost.

Clarissa knew Lily used to be a cheerful and bubbly young woman.

Her heart was in a dilemma. On one hand, she didn‘t want to go. On the other hand, she wanted to

help Lily out.

At dinnertime, Clarissa opened the door to her room.

She saw Damien standing at the doorway with his hand raised. It was clear that he was about to knock

on the door.

“Is it time for dinner?” she asked.

Her doe–like eyes gazed up at Damien innocently. “Yes.” After that, Damien took Clarissa‘s hand and

led her to the dining table. Whenever he demonstrated such gentleness in his actions, Clarissa could

feel her heart about to give in.

Tonight‘s dinner was Mrs. Faber‘s famous tofu dumplings.

“Are we celebrating anything today?” Clarissa asked curiously.

“Can‘t we have nice food without having to celebrate something?”

Clarissa felt that Damien would only have tofu dumplings for dinner if he was in an extremely good

mood. Not even Mrs. Faber knew that he loved that particular dish in the past.

“Are you free this Saturday?” Clarissa asked during dinner.

“You have plans on that day? Tell me all about them.” Damien sounded very calm.

This was the first time he didn‘t raise his voice at Clarissa ever since her pregnancy started.

“Landon‘s planning to celebrate his birthday, so Lily invited me to go along. They want to go outdoors,

but I can‘t go there on my own, so I‘d like you to come with me. Is that okay?” Clarissa explained.

Damien didn‘t even hesitate to answer. “No problem.”

Clarissa originally thought that the esteemed CEO of New East Corporation wouldn‘t bother attending

Landon‘s birthday party. “What gift should we prepare for Landon?” “We?” “Yeah. Both of us have to

give him something, right?” “If I remember correctly, aren‘t we already divorced?” Clarissa was

speechless after hearing Damien‘s answer. She could only eat quietly after that.

“I‘ll do it,” Damien added.

“What would you like to give him?” Clarissa was curious since she had no idea what present Damien

would prepare.

“You‘ll find out when that day comes.”

Hence, Clarissa dropped the subject.

Saturday soon came, and it was a sunny day.

The weather during that month was very cold and unpredictable, but the temperature rose to twenty–

five degrees that day. It was very warm to the point that people actually felt hot.

Lily had told Clarissa in advance that she had bought Landon a cake, so there was no need to prepare

another. Clarissa‘s job was to prepare delicious food, since they would be having a picnic outdoors.

She was also required to bring a picnic mat and a couple of

foldable lounge chairs.

Clarissa had spent so much time discussing the details of the time, location, and the list of necessary

things with Lily.

She rarely went out to have fun in the past, so naturally, she had never gone outdoors before. Clarissa

quickly noticed the green leaves hanging off countless trees from the car window, which was a beautiful

sight to behold. As expected, it quickly cheered hernovelbin

up.

About an hour later, the car stopped right outside the picnic spot that Lily had picked.

It was a huge green meadow. Majestic mountains rose in the distance, while a long river snaked across

the greenery not far away from the meadow. All in all, the scenery was breathtaking.

“Mr. Lawrence! Clarissa! You guys are here! I can‘t believe you‘re willing to come celebrate my birthday

with me, Mr. Lawrence. Wow! I feel really flattered right now,” Landon gushed.

“Clarissa told me to come, so I have to obey her command.” Damien tilted his head in Clarissa‘s

direction.

Clarissa and Lily exchanged glances immediately. They thought they were the only ones who knew

about Landon‘s crush on Clarissa. Little did they know, Damien knew about it as well.

The only one who was kept in the dark was Landon. Then again, he had never exhibited his feelings for

Clarissa.

Clarissa kept thinking that perhaps, Lily was the one making guesses about Landon‘s feelings for her.
