Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 271

Chapter 271 A Heavy Conversation Before Lily could explain further, she slumped on the table andnovelbin

bawled out her eyes. Clarissa was so shocked, she fell into a daze. Feeling guilty, she sat there silently

without consoling Lily.

Lily was still sobbing uncontrollably. She slammed her fists on the table and lamented, “You‘re the My

Sunshine in his contacts! I knew he fell in love with you at first sight when he saw you at the dormitory.

You should‘ve seen the way he looked at you when I told him you left the country. Even after he knew

that you were married and pregnant, he still has a crush on you! He only treats me like a bridge to

connect to you. That trip to Pentatone County, he...”

Clarissa looked down, and fiddled nervously with her cutlery.

The reason Landon gave her that nickname was probably because the first time they met was at a

primary school called Sunshine Elementary school. Back then, Clarissa was helping him fill up his gas.

That was when they exchanged numbers. He probably labelled her as My Sunshine‘ back then.

Back then, Landon didn‘t even know that Clarissa was married.

“But you have to understand. There‘s no way I will end up with Landon,” Clarissa said apologetically.

“No matter what, the person he‘s fallen in love with is you! In the future, he might give up on you and

love other people, but that person will never be me! To him, I‘m just a middleman to get to you!” Lily

then added, “Can you please consider staying in Genovia?”

“That‘s all the more reason I should leave.” Clarissa stared at the dishes on the table with a vacant

expression.

This was probably the first time in her life she didn‘t feel like eating, even though delicious food was laid

out in front of her.

For the next few minutes, both of them remained silent.

When Madelynn heard the commotion outside, she added a snide remark, “What‘s wrong with them?”

“She‘s just sad, just let her cry.” Damien sounded like he was reprimanding Madelynn. “Have you been

eavesdropping on their conversation?” Madelynn asked cautiously.

“No, but it just seems like they were having a heavy conversation just now.” Damien didn‘t spill too

many details.

Madelynn didn‘t really care about what they were talking about, either.

Clarissa gave Leah a call, and asked her to pick them up from the restaurant.

Chapter 71 A Heavy Conversation

“I‘ll send you back to the dormitory, okay?” Clarissa patted Lily‘s face gently.

At this point, Lily had already passed out.

After Leah and Mrs. Faber carried Lily into the car, they all got inside. Mrs. Faber sat in the front

passenger seat.

“Why is she so drunk? It‘s dangerous to be like this! I can‘t fathom what‘ll happen if she ends up in the

wrong hands,” Mrs. Faber said, looking at Lily with sympathy.

“She‘s been in a bad mood these days,” Clarissa said as she looked at Lily, who was sleeping soundly.

After listening to Lily‘s drunken outburst, it dawned upon Clarissa that Damien was deeply in love with

her. Yvonne and Lily told her the same thing: that President Lawrence hadn‘t been smiling the time she

left for overseas.

She was the only person who could affect President Lawrence in such a way. Although Damien was

gloomy by nature, he would still smile from time to time when she was there.

Clarissa could feel herself slowly falling for Damien as the days stretched by.

After they sent Lily back to the dormitory, they returned to Atherton Garden.

On the way back, Clarissa was chatting merrily with Mrs. Faber. She didn‘t realize that there was a taxi

following them back home.

After spending the whole day outside, Clarissa was exhausted.

The moment she returned to her room, she sensed someone was in the house. Pricking up her ears,

she thought with fear, ‘Did someone just break into the house?‘

“Mrs. Faber! Mrs. Faber!” Clarissa called out to her from her room. Worried that she might trip and fall,

she wouldn‘t dare to run outside.

“What‘s wrong?” a familiar voice drifted over, and someone pushed her bedroom door. Wearing a black

shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbow, Damien stood at her bedroom door. Clarissa looked at him.

He looked inexplicably handsome, especially with his broad shoulders and defined facial features.

Clarissa‘s gaze shifted to the spanner on his hand. He seemed to be fixing something in the bathroom.

“Damien! You scared me!” Clarissa didn‘t even realize that her tone had turned soft when talking to

him.
