Chapter 187 You’re Really Fearless Now, Huh?

Janet returned to her station after a while.

Clarissa said, “Janet, I’d like to give the project at Dennis’ company a shot.”

Janet was taken aback at first. Then, she smiled. “I forgot about your relationship with Damien, so I

was surprised you already knew about this even before I said anything. I never would’ve thought of

assigning you to this project if you hadn’t said anything. Since you want to join, make sure you do a

good job. Tomorrow, go to Brightside Investment and get the documents we need.”

Clarissa nodded.

She finished up the tasks she had in hand, and then went to Damien’s office in the evening for her

tutoring session. She brought her journal along with her.

Damien continued to work on his things after she handed in her journal. As usual, he didn’t read it.

On this day, however, Clarissa couldn’t focus. She kept thinking about what Theresa had said, and her

mind kept wandering.

“Mrs. Lawrence, class is in session. Do you think you can take advantage of your tutor just because

Clarissa stole a glance at Damien and discovered that he was staring at her.

She suddenly felt that she was a disobedient student whose subject teacher was complaining to the

homeroom teacher about.

Now, her homeroom teacher was watching her sternly.

Clarissa had to force herself to concentrate on her books.

On the way home, Damien asked her, “What’s wrong?” “It’s nothing.”

“What did you say?” He frowned.

“Nothing.”

“Come on, tell me. Maybe I can help you,” Damien said.

Clarissa gave it some thought, and then told him everything that Theresa had told her.

“I’m not your savior’s daughter, so you can do anything you want to me now!” Clarissa announced,

looking like she was ready to put her life on the line.

“Really?” Damien laughed. “I can do anything I want?”

To tell the truth, he felt less burdened now that he knew she wasn’t actually Steven’s daughter

“I’ll send you the location and Dennis’s number later.”

“Why would you give me Dennis’s number? Can’t you give me the number for the person in charge?”

she asked.

“Don’t ask.” Since he didn’t want her to ask, she didn’t. Then, he asked, “What time are you going

tomorrow?”

“Janet told me to collect the documents before going to the office. That means I can wake up later

tomorrow.” Suddenly, Clarissa smiled brightly.

Damien shot her a meaningful look. “So, what are you hinting at?”

‘What am I hinting at? What could I be hinting at?’
