Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 185

Chapter 185 Your Wife and Frank‘s Son

At Hatton Hotel, which was renowned in Genovia.

Dennis had booked a private room. He and Damien were the only people inside.

“Peterson, how‘s your personal life going?” Damien sounded like he couldn‘t wait to hear Dennis‘s

answer

“Oh, come on, President Lawrence. My wife had an affair with some young dude, and I couldn‘t be

more disgraced. Then again, what can a woman with no money and no skills like her do? No one

forced her to do something like this, and she‘s been begging me to take her back,” Dennis replied.

Damien smiled. “It‘s all thanks to whatever tricks you have up your sleeve.”

“We‘re no better than each other. What would you do in this situation, President Lawrence? Ever since

that bitch left, I‘ve been enjoying myself and leveling the playing field. Seeing her suffer just made

things that much better. I heard her lover dumped her after he found himself another rich lady.” He

continued, “President Lawrence, I heard your wife‘s really innocent. I doubt something like this will

happen to you, right? Still, I also heard that she and Frank Moore‘s son...”

Damien raised an eyebrow. “I won‘t stop him if he has a death wish.”

“I know how ruthless you can be. Anyway, back to the point. I wanted to tell you about this. You know

that Madam Zell‘s dead, right? Apparently, she caught some weird disease in prison. I‘m afraid that

someone‘s going to use this against you,” Dennis told him seriously.

“It‘s been so many years. I doubt they‘ll be able to deal any serious damage. Anyway, I have a

recording of her.”

Dennis nodded. “That‘s good. Think about how powerful your father‘s company was at that time.

Universal Real Estate was one step away from monopolizing the industry, which was why Frank Moore

and the others became jealous and made Madam Zell...”

“That‘s enough! The past is in the past.” Damien cut Dennis off.

“Anyway, remember to be careful. Also, make sure your wife doesn‘t get together with Frank Moore‘s

son. Wouldn‘t she just be pissing you off?” Dennis said angrily.

“Who else is she going to be with aside from myself?”

“That‘s true. It‘s fine as long as you can keep her under your control.” Dennis added,“ There‘s another

thing. The entire Genovia has been rocked by the news of your audit department. Do you take on

external jobs?”

“Why? Do you need an audit?” Damien asked as he played with a glass.

“Speaking of which, I have to applaud your foresight. You knew Howard Brooks wasn‘t clean, so you

set up an audit department. If not for his contributions when you initially

started the company, he would‘ve died a terrible death at your hands.” Dennis seemed ashamed on

Howard‘s behalf. “Anyway, I do have an investment company that I want audited.”novelbin

“No problem. I‘ll tell Lucas about it.”

“Joseph‘s been trying to get this job, you know.” Dennis leaned over to Damien. “Make sure you beat

him to it and show him who‘s boss.”

Damien laughed. “So, should I thank you for this?”

The two of them continued talking about things happening in Genovia‘s business world. It was already

eleven by the time Damien got up to leave

Clarissa was spending the night at her mother‘s place.

Damien suddenly wanted to find someone he was close with and have a heart–to–heart with them.

He turned the car around, and headed to Theresa‘s neighborhood.

At Theresa‘s house.

Clarissa sat on the sofa with a ring in her hand. She had been stunned into silence for a long while

now.

The ring was an emerald one, and it looked dated.

Earlier, Theresa told her that Steven had picked her up somewhere.

Clarissa was stunned at her mother‘s words. She couldn‘t believe her ears.

The woman she had known as her mother wasn‘t her actual mother, and Steven wasn‘t her actual

father.

How could she accept this?

The loving, warm family that she‘d known since she was a child actually had nothing to do with her.

Clarissa kept crying.

“Clary, are you okay?” Theresa said, “I wanted to talk to your grandmother today, so I called your aunt

and asked her to pass the phone. Then, I happened to hear your uncle mention that Connie had found

herself a job as Madelynn York‘s assistant. I know Connie isn‘t a simpleton, and I know who Madelynn

is. I don‘t know how they got to know each other, but I know that Madelynn likes Damien and Connie

has always been jealous of you. After some thought, I felt that they would probably try to use this

against you, so you should think things over and come up with a plan.”

Theresa tightened her grip on Clarissa‘s hand when she saw Clarissa sitting there, stupefied.

Clarissa‘s hands were cold.

It‘s been so many years that I‘ve forgotten about this. You‘ve always been my good girl and if not for

the fact that I was afraid you‘d be caught off guard by Connie, 1 definitely wouldn‘t have told you about

this. This ring is the only keepsake you had with you. Now that your father‘s gone, no one knows

anything about this. I‘m still your mother, so don‘t allow yourself to be thrown off balance by Connie.”

Clarissa sat there, tears streaming down her face.

She put the ring into the inner pocket of her bag.

She didn‘t have the expertise to appraise the emerald ring.
