Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 179

Chapter 179 Keep Him Tied to You Damien took out a card. “This is my secondary credit card. You can

hold on to it.”

“Do I need to pay you back for this?” Clarissa blinked at him.

“Since you don‘t want the five million anymore, you can take it that I‘m sponsoring all of your

expenses.”

Clarissa figured that since it was almost payday, things would be better once she had her salary. She

would take this credit card as an emergency measure.

“What‘s the pin? I‘ll take it down.” She pulled her phone out and got ready to take down the pin.

“000215.”

“Does it mean anything special? It‘ll make it easier for me to remember,” Clarissa said.

After a moment of silence, Damien said, “It‘s my birthday.”

“Oh, right, your birthday. I forgot all about it,” she said awkwardly after a pause.

In truth, she didn‘t even know when his birthday was, let alone forget about it. She was afraid Damien

would mock her again, like how he‘d done when she hadn‘t known about his age. She had to find a

way to make herself look better.

“Drop the act. Not knowing about it and not remembering are two different matters.”

Clarissa fell silent.

Damien‘s birthday was after payday, so it looked like she still had time.

What was she going to get him, though?

She couldn‘t give him the underwear as a gift. After all, she had already agreed to get it for him earlier.

14th of February was a Friday, so Damien‘s birthday fell on a Saturday.

Clarissa asked Lily to go to the shopping mall with her.

This time, they didn‘t go to New East Mall. With her current financial situation, there was no way she

could afford to buy anything there.

They walked around the men‘s department on the second floor.

“What do you think I should get him?” Clarissa frowned.

It was easy for the frugal to learn extravagance, but it was difficult to reverse the process.

The feeling of being unable to make ends meet was terrible.

“Get him a belt, maybe. Keep him tied to you.”

Now that‘s a good idea. More importantly, belts aren‘t expensive.‘

However, Clarissa only dared to look around at medium to high–end local brands. Foreign luxury

brands were completely out of her league.

“Welcome, miss.” The moment they stepped into the store, the store clerk‘s polite voice rang out.

Why did this voice sound so familiar?

It was only when the store clerk raised her head that Clarissa saw it was Connie.

She instinctively wanted to leave, but she suddenly recalled what Theresa had said. Her uncle was

barely getting by, and things weren‘t easy for their family.

After leaving New East Corporation and Luke‘s house, Connie hadn‘t gone back to Pentatone County.

She stayed on in Genovia.

She wanted to make a name for herself before going back. If she went back the way she currently was,

the gap between herself and Clarissa would only widen.

This job was just a temporary springboard for her to pay her rent and cover her daily expenses. She

wanted to find herself a better job.

“Why, if it isn‘t Mrs. Lawrence. What do you need? This is a local brand, you know. Are you going to

buy this for President Lawrence?” Connie‘s tone was extremely harsh and bitter.

Though Emily was the one who caused her to be fired, Connie knew that Clarissa definitely had a role

to play in it.novelbin

She hated Clarissa even more now.

Clarissa nodded reluctantly. She knew store clerks would get a commission every time they

successfully closed a sale, and she wanted to help Connie out. At least, it would make things a little

easier for Connie‘s family,

After all, they were cousins.

“How could someone like President Lawrence possibly be interested in something from here?

Shouldn‘t you be getting some luxury product? Or is it because you don‘t want to get him something

good?” Connie figured that Clarissa had to be feigning compliance with Damien‘s instructions. She

would buy Damien something cheap, then keep the rest of the money for herself.

Clarissa was someone who could fork out three hundred thousand dollars to pay for a hospital bill

without blinking an eye, after all. What did the price of a few belts matter to Clarissa?
