Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 167

Chapter 167 Go Be With Him if You Like Him!

The people seated in the living room were the senior management staff of New East Corporation

Every year on the first day of the holiday season, they would come to visit Damien. This was a tradition.

This was Clarissa’s first year with the Lawrence family, so she didn’t know about this. Furthermore,

Damien hadn’t mentioned anything.

She hadn’t brushed her hair or washed her face. She greeted the people in the living room with a hint

of the laziness that came from rolling out of bed.

They were all powerful people.

When she saw them staring at her, she said awkwardly, “I… I’m just going to collect a parcel.”

After that, she sped toward the door. As she turned her back to them, she quickly transferred the trash

to be in front of her.

This was so awkward. They had probably all seen what she was holding.

A transparent plastic bag…

Clarissa didn’t even put on a jacket. She ran to the main entrance, trembling. The delivery man was

waiting for her there

She quickly threw the trash away before turning to him.

“Miss Clarissa Johnson?” he asked.

“Yes, that’s me.”

“Please check the item before signing.”

There was a huge box in front of her, and the words “Made from Dried Flowers” were printed on it.

There was no way Damien was behind this. That man didn’t have a romantic bone in his body

Anyway, he’d never given her anything like this before.

“Who’s the sender?” she asked.

“I don’t know. It was posted anonymously. The parcel came from Pentatone County, though.”

The delivery man helped her to open the box. Inside it was a bouquet of dried roses, made to look like

a teddy bear. It looked positively adorable.

“It’s not damaged, miss.”

Clarissa signed for it.

She suddenly recalled what Joseph had told her on New Year’s Day...

He said he was going to give her something.

This shocked her. Why was he pulling such a huge prank on her during the holiday season?

There was a bunch of senior management staff currently seated in the living room. With how narrow-

minded Damien was, how could he possibly be happy to see the parcel?

Clarissa glanced at the delivery bill. Aside from the address stating that the parcel had come from

Pentatone County, there was no other information

If so, she would just pretend that she didn’t know who it was from. She would insist that Damien had

given this to her.

“Miss Johnson, where should I place this?” the delivery man asked.

“Oh, in the living room, please. Thanks.”

She followed him into the living room in trepidation.

The delivery man put the flowers on the floor next to the TV.

“Thank you, hubby. I love it.” Clarissa smiled brightly.

Damien stared at the flowers, his eyes burning.

Indeed, he wasn’t the one behind this.

Only a man would buy a woman something like this.

He knew very well which man it was.

However, thanks to the senior management staff that were present, he still forced out a

smile despite the iciness in his eyes. “That’s good to know.”

He would get even with her once they were alone!

“Thanks,” Clarissa said again.

She nodded at the people present and told them that she was going to wash her hands after touching

the parcel.

After all, she couldn’t participate in their conversation.

“How are you going to thank me?” Damien asked:

She was taken aback. “Uh… I want to give you a surprise as well. Stop asking.”

After that, she fled upstairs.

“Damien, I saw what was in your trash. I think if you two continue this way, you won’t be

having kids within the next ten years.” Lucas spread his hands. “Johnson’s determined to be a career

woman.”

Ray laughed as well. “We all saw that, Damien. You have pretty good stamina.”

Topics that only men would talk about were enough to make anyone blush.

This made the only woman present, Director Jones, feel awkward.

“I saw that Clarissa was dressed in all red. Is she celebrating something?” she asked Damien

“Yes, she’s twenty-four this year,” Damien answered.

He was still thinking about the person who had given her the flowers.

“No wonder.” Director Jones smiled.

The senior management staff didn’t stay for lunch. They left around noon.

Damien went upstairs.

Clarissa was lying on the bed, scrolling through her phone.

“Are you texting someone?” Damien frowned.

“No, I’m ordering you something. I have to return the favor, don’t I?”

She told herself that on this day, no matter who asked, she would insist that the flowers were fromnovelbin

Damien. She had never thought of anyone else, and neither would he.

“Clarissa, don’t try to pull this with me!” Damien pinned her to the bed and glared at her.

“What have done? Don’t tell me it’s not from you. I can’t think of anyone else who’d get me something

like that!” Her face was a little pale because she couldn’t help feeling a tad guilty

“If you like him, you can be with him! I won’t stop you,” Damien said hoarsely.

“What do you mean by that? You know Grandpa’s health doesn’t allow for that.”

“So, you‘re really going to be with him once Grandpa’s okay?” He pinched her jaw.

“I…” That wasn’t what she meant at all.

She felt upset at his words. ‘Who does he think he is? He was so affectionate with Madelynn last night,

yet here he is, teaching me a lesson!’

She regretted being attracted to how he looked the day before, when he had approached her in the

snow.

He was showing his true colors again a narrow-minded person who would seek revenge for even the

smallest grievance.

She refused to explain or coax him!

“Clarissa, it’s time to eat.” Theresa was calling out to her from downstairs.

“My mom’s calling me.” Clarissa pushed Damien away firmly and headed downstairs.
