Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 128

Chapter 128 I Can’t

Clarissa turned around to wipe her tears.

Perhaps the anesthesia made her actions look rigid, or perhaps it was the urge to pee and the

embarrassment that came with it.

Damien stared at her, at a loss.

“You’re so stubborn!” Damien growled, though he sounded helpless.

He squatted and pulled off Clarissa’s pants decisively, took the shower head, and helped her to wash.

She couldn’t help but feel embarrassed.

Her last bit of dignity was utterly ruined in front of Damien.

Clarissa was holding the drip bottle when Damien carried her to the bed.

“Sleep,” he ordered Clarissa.

However, Clarissa turned around and ignored him.

Damien waited until she finished her drip before taking the needle off her hand.

Clarissa had no idea when she fell asleep, but her face was full of tears.

The next day, Clarissa woke up to hear Damien calling someone through the phone. “Bring some

clothes for Mrs. Lawrence. Include her undergarments too…”

Clarissa pretended not to hear anything and went back to sleep.

But Damien was still with her from morning until the entire afternoon, and Clarissa couldn’t fake her

sleep anymore. So, she opened her eyes and started talking to Damien.

“Aren’t you going to work?” she asked.

“The company will be fine without me for a few days,” he said.

The nurse came in to do a simple body check and changed the gauze on Clarissa’s head. The nursenovelbin

was holding a shaver, too.

“What is this?” She asked.

“Hair shaver,” the nurse answered simply.

“For me?!”

“Yes. You need to shave your hair off in order for me to put on the ointment for you,” the nurse replied,

and started shaving Clarissa’s hair.

Clarissa wanted to touch it instinctively, but the nurse warned, “Don’t touch it, or you’ll get infections.”

“Don’t touch it.” Damien admonished Clarissa.

That made Clatissa feel even more uneasy. Does this mean that Damien would see her bald?

Under such circumstances, it was impossible for any girl to face others.

Helpless, she burst into dejected tears.

After the nurse left, she immediately turned her head around to face Damien. “Am I ugly without my

hair?”

“Are you finally talking to me?” Damien asked.

Clarissa lowered her head and repeated her question. “Is it ugly?”

“Uglier than not wearing pants?” Damien asked back.

She was speechless, not knowing how to answer.

Clarissa bit her lower lip in frustration.

While she was suffering from the awkwardness, Lily appeared.

Lily was worried sick about Clarissa, but the latter insisted that she was fine. Clarissa also requested

Lily to visit her mother on her behalf this weekend.

But Damien frowned when he heard Clarissa’s words.

Clarissa had to stay in the hospital for a week. Damien spent his entire time taking care of her.

On Sunday, Mrs. Faber finally replaced Damien. Despite that, Damien couldn’t stop himself from

dropping by Columbia Hospital.

Clarissa asked her friend, Lily, to visit her mother instead of him. It was probably because she thought it

wasn’t his duty to do so. However, Damien genuinely wanted to meet his mother-in-law.

He gave the head of the hospital a call and asked for Theresa Hale’s ward number.

He knew that Clarissa’s mother was called Theresa Hale, and even helped Clarissa to hire a caregiver

for Theresa before.

Even though Damien was the one who hired Anne Row, he didn’t know the latter personally.

Damien simply told the hospital staff that he was a friend of Theresa Hale, and wanted to visit her.

Anne was in the washroom, showering.

Damien looked at Theresa. The woman looked to be in her sixties.

Suddenly, her thumb moved.

Damien frowned slightly. The next thing he knew, Theresa was opening her eyes looking at Damien.
