The headache was coming from a hangover.
Serenity endured the headache and reached for her phone to check the time. It was ten in the morning.
She muttered, “When he wakes up, he goes off and leaves me alone in the room; when I wake up first,he’ll say I’m leaving him behind and abandoning him.”
Knock, knock.
There was a knock on the door.
Thinking it was the maid, Serenity answered, “Come in.“
The door was pushed open, but it was her sister, Liberty, who came in. Her nephew, Sonny, followedbehind.
“Liberty?”
Serenity was surprised to see her sister. After all, her sister’s breakfast place had not closed at thishour.
“Liberty, why are you here?”
Serenity was about to turn over to get out of bed, but her head ached more due to the sudden hugemovement.
She had slept all night, so why was her head still aching?
She only drank a few glasses of wine.
Liberty walked over and sat on the edge of Serenity’s bed. She looked at Serenity and asked, ” Doesyour heart hurt?”
“No, it doesn’t,” Serenity smiled and lied.
“I closed early today and came to see you. How much did you drink last night?”
“I didn’t have many. Liberty, it’s hard not to drink when you’re socializing. I only drank a few glasses -just a few glasses.”
Serenity knew her sister had always not allowed her to drink and had asked Zachary to watch her sothat she would not drink wine as if it was water. Her sister also said that her alcohol tolerance was verypoor although she liked to drink.
“Zachary said you drank a lot of wine and kept praising how good it was when you were coming home.Socializing requires you to drink, but you do it in moderation. How many times have I told you that?”
Liberty also had social engagements in the past due to work. She had to drink but would not drink toomuch as she understood her tolerance. In short, Liberty always kept a clear head and was nimblewhenever she socialized, lest to be schemed by other people.
“Zachary complained about me to you.”

Serenity touched where she was poked by her sister and complained softly, “He just likes to tell on me.Whenever I do something bad, he goes to you extra fast to complain about me.
“I don’t even grumble about him to his parents.”
Liberty spoke for Zachary, “Zachary didn’t tell on you; he accidentally spilled it when I asked him whathappened.”
“He’s the most tight–lipped person, so how could he have accidentally said it? He told on me fordrinking in excess. I can see through his little mind. The wine was good. If he hadn’t stopped me afterthat, I would’ve drunk a few more glasses… Liberty… Don’t pull my ear.”
Mrs. York revealed her thirst for drinks and had her ear pulled by her sister.
