Chapter 40

On the other side, Frank was looking at the back of Julissa and Sherly, who were talking and smiling asthey left. His eyes were filled with hatred. He said word by word, “Before tomorrow, send me the photo ofJudith Cooper and the name of the orphanage where she was adopted.” He hung up the phone angrily. After Gary heard Frank’s words, his eyes rounded with surprise. Gary cursed Frank in his heart before heput away the phone. Suddenly, he seemed to have recalled something. “Judith Cooper? Orphanage?Judith? Jodie?” He muttered to himself word by word. “Hey! It can’t be such a coincidence, right?” As hethought of these, his unhurried steps turned into trots unconsciously. Frank turned around and looked atthe place where Judith had just sat. It was empty already. He looked at the glass door and saw Judithslightly lowering her head. He could tell from her side face that she was still in panic! Adam wascomforting her. Such a scene was somewhat annoying! He thought,

Just like Mom, who would send me letters to let me know that she is safe, but left me no trace of her.>Frank’s deep gaze maintained as the two disappeared. At this moment, he found his heart extremelyempty. He had never felt this way! Sometimes, waiting could be the most painful part of one’s life. Thosewho waited could only be at ease when the ones they waited for returned. Judith told Adam about howshe ran into Sherly and Julissa. Hearing this, Adam only regretted not being there for her.

Judith’s face was still pale, and she looked absent-minded. Her gaze at the street was blank. Adamcould only carefully protect her by her side. It had been seven years, but she still could not forget thepain. Seven years ago, she was not seriously injured, but she was disheartened and was unwilling towake up. It took him and Alissa a lot of effort to raise her hope to live again. They both thought that afterseven years, at least she would forget a little. With Lucas, Eric, and Emily by her side, at least the hatredand pain in her heart would go away slowly.

And for the past seven years, she had been very busy. It seemed that she wanted to make herself busyand have no time to think about those unhappy things in the past. He didn’t expect that the moment she

met the Coopers, her fragility would be completely

stimulated. “Judy, stop it. You scared me,” Adam suddenly said. Judith slowly turned her head andlooked at him with a glazy stare. She pursed her lips and wanted to smile, but she couldn’t. Her eyeswere dull when her hoarse voice came up, “Adam, what did you just say?” Adam smiled bitterly. Shehadn’t heard what he said at all. He told himself, “Forget it, she would be more worried if she heard whatI just said.” He smiled and asked in a gentle and concerned voice, “Judy, shall I send you back?” Judithquickly shook her head. Her mood was much better now. If she met the Coopers again, she would beable to face them bravely. She must be brave! She was back for revenge. Next time, she would definitelybe tough!novelbin
