Chapter 20

After Edwin left, Frank straightened up and said to himself with a smile, “That’s right. He is suitable to bea secretary.” After Judith received Edwin’s message, she cheered herself up and walked to thepresident’s office. When she stood at the door, Frank’s evil smile came to her mind. Judith wassomewhat unwilling to go into his office. She had saved him the day before, but he hadn’t expressed hisappreciation to her. She wasn’t someone who cared about that, but she still felt uncomfortable. Judithlifted her hand but did not knock on the door. She bit her lip and hesitated whether she should go into theoffice. However, could she leave? She had to rely on Frank’s salary to support her family. Judith took adeep breath to calm down. Then, she decided to go into the office. She knew she would be even moreworried if she didn’t go in. She knocked on the door. “Come in.” There came a cold but pleasant voice.Judith pushed the door open and walked into the office. Frank compressed his lips and squinted atJudith’s clear eyes. She was nervous. When Frank found that, he smiled secretly, and there was even atrace of an evil smile in his eyes. “What can I do for you, Mr. Taylor?” Judith asked politely and wentstraight to the point. She took a casual glance at the spacious and bright office. It was well-matched toFrank.novelbin

However…

Judith fixed her eyes on the lollipops on Frank’s desk. As an adult, why did Frank like lollipops? It wasn’tstrange. She liked strawberry-flavored lollipops too. Frank observed her in detail and said peacefully,“Ms. White, you will be transferred back to the head office to be the design director. Your salary will bedoubled, and you have a two-day weekend.” What Judith had been worried about did happen. Doubledsalary and a two-day weekend were so tempting.

However, her family was in Kimshire.

She had already found a school for her children, and she had decided to accompany them. Judith smiledand tried to make it short. “Mr. Taylor, I am afraid I can’t do that. My family is in Kimshire.” Frank did notexpect Judith to refuse him, so he could not help but frown. There should be no reason to reject the job.In order to work in the Taylor Group, the citizens of Mayfield would try everything they could do, butJudith refused the opportunity. However, Judith was indeed a talent. In Frank’s eyes, she was the onlyperson who could pass through the design drawings review at the first round. He smiled evilly and saidsarcastically, “Ms. White, do you feel that you are not qualified to be the design director of the headoffice?” Frank’s challenging words made Judith combative. With a professional smile on her face, shereplied confidently and calmly, “Mr. Taylor, you have been imaginative. My design drawings were passedby you in one go. There is no doubt about my ability. I am qualified to be the director, and it is not apressure for me. However, my family is in Kimshire.” Judith explained her concerns. She would beworthless if Frank kept misunderstanding her. She had suffered a lot for the design. Hearing that, Frankwas speechless. He exclaimed in his mind that Judith was beautiful and eloquent. He decided to throwthe question back to her. “I won’t care about that. From today on, Ms. White, you are a member of thehead office. I will send someone else to the branch office.” Frank’s words were simple and crude.
