Chapter 570 Getting Him to Admit It

Within the time it took to brew a pot of tea, Luke had invited Quentin to the teahouse.

Quinn got out of his car and nodded at Luke.

"Please accept my apologies. Ms. Lewis invited me so suddenly that I had to come empty-handed."

Luke was very composed and answered, "Ms. Lewis isn't one to fuss over these things. We're justglad you could come."

Quentin followed Luke into the teahouse, wiping the sweat from his forehead and glancing aroundnervously.

He had been drinking with a client when his assistant informed him that someone important wantedto meet him.

He had rushed over without wasting any time. He hadn't even managed to ask what it was about.

"Thank you, Mr. Zieglar. Does Ms. Lewis want something from me?"

Luke led the way and said, "You'll know when you meet her."

Quentin was anxious.

Luke opened the door. A pot of tea was simmering on the table, bubbling softly. The steam risingfrom it complemented the early winter weather outside the window.

Grace sat at the table. Her skin was fairer than snow, and she looked calm and peaceful.

"Mr. Yeager." She smiled and gestured in front of her. "Please, have a seat."

Quentin was captivated by her. This new president of Amirate Corporation was rumored to becourageous and resourceful. He hadn't expected her to also be exceptionally beautiful.

Luke closed the door, shutting out the noise outside.

"As far as I know, Amirate Corporation hasn't been developing any land recently. Why did you wantto see me?"

Grace poured him a cup of tea and got straight to the point. "Yes, we don't plan on going into realestate in the near future.

"Mr. Yeager, you're the main distributor of construction materials in Pamore. If Amirate does ventureinto real estate, we'll have to rely on you."

Quentin fidgeted. Any businessman could tell that these words were just pleasantries.

"Mr. Yeager, you seem quite nervous."

"No, not at all. It's a pleasure to help you. Just say the word, and I'll be at your service."

Quentin downed the cup of tea in front of him.

Grace leaned back and scrutinized him for a few seconds. "Why does it seem like you look a bitpale, as if you're guilty?"

"Not at all."

"A year ago, a building collapsed on Old Pamore Street. It was a tourist area and led to dozens ofdeaths, shocking the public. The higher-ups were furious, and government leaders for the city werestripped of their positions.

"The project team and suppliers were thoroughly investigated as well. The investigation wasrecently concluded. Have you heard the results, Mr. Yeager?"

Quentin turned a shade paler with each word Grace spoke.

Even though she was beautiful, her words were colder than ice.

Quentin forced a smile and said, "Of course, I heard. The project team and materials dealers werepunished according to the law."

Grace added, "The two main culprits were sentenced to life imprisonment, while the rest weresentenced to five to ten years in prison."

Quentin shuddered.

"Since you have worked in this industry for decades, you must understand the gravity of this."

"They got what they deserved."

Grace slowly lifted her teacup and continued, "I've also heard rumors that someone is attempting toreenact last year's tragedy. I wanted to remind you not to be misled by others and take the wrongpath."

Quentin clenched his teacup tightly. He had met many people over the years, but no one like Grace. He couldn't figure out what was going on in her mind at all.

"I understand. Thank you, Ms. Lewis."

Grace smiled and said no more.

Quentin left the teahouse, holding back his frustration. After a long silence, he made a call.novelbin

"Stop supplying materials to Eastwood Construction."

Although he wasn't sure where Grace had gotten her information, if she knew, it meant that otherpeople knew about it too.

This was a ticking bomb, and he couldn't take the risk.
