Chapter 954 Cleaning Up
With a stomp of his feet, Colton wheeled around and stormed off.
When he got to the door of the kitchen, he stopped to examine Jervis. "Look at that content smile on your face. Those who don'tknow better might assume you're already taken."
Colton decided to vent his frustration at Jervis.
Despite the mockery, Jervis merely replied nonchalantly, "I've only been single recently, but you have been single since you wereborn. In short, you've been single all your life."
Colton didn't know what to say.
He stared at Jervis, his gaze razor-sharp as the corners of his mouth twitched wildly. "Such cruelty!"
Irritated, he left for the main hall. Jervis turned around to cast another knowing glance at the two people in the kitchen beforewhirling around and exiting too.
"Come back!" Colbert blurted out, pointing to the plate of gnocchis on the stove. "Take that with you."
“Let's go together."
Eudora added some cold water to the pot and was about to serve the gnocchis herself, but Colbert held her hand. "It's hot. Jervisand I'll take care of this.”
Although Jervis didn't speak, he glowered at Colbert with eyes full of sorrow and sighed helplessly.
He couldn't help but admire Colbert, for he was also a single man.
"| guess this is my fate," he reckoned.
The two left with four plates of gnocchis. Even though Colbert had told Eudora to leave the work to the men, she still went to thedining room with two plates of gnocchis.
"Oh, why are you serving the gnocchis yourself, Mr. Steele?"
Mildred approached Colbert right away and tried to take the gnocchis from him.
She was worried that Colbert, born and raised in a wealthy family, wouldn't be able to handle physical labor.
"It's fine.”
Colbert set the gnocchis down on the table and returned to retrieve more from the kitchen, only to see Eudora coming over withthem.
"| said you don't need to do it," he chided softly, taking the hot plate and putting it on the table behind him.
Everybody present could sense the mushy loving atmosphere between them from their brief exchange.
Immediately, everybody caught on to what was going on but tacitly kept their silence.
