Chapter 552

Chapter 552 Trapped in the Labyrinthnovelbin

Eudora understood Colbert's meaning and looked down at the shoes on her feet. She helplessly said,

"I'm just borrowing them temporarily. After we get out, we'll return the shoes to that girl. Besides, we

have no idea how deep the secret room is or whether it's flat or uneven inside. If we keep walking

barefoot, we might hurt our feet and slow down. Every extra minute we stay here increases the danger.

I don't want to die here."

Eudora acknowledged her own strength, but she still had some resistance when it came to actually

wearing the shoes. That was why she asked Colbert to get the shoes for her.

She wanted Colbert to encourage her because if he dared to touch the shoes, why couldn't she?

In her mind, she silently cheered herself on and decided to put on the shoes.

But no matter how scared she felt, she didn't want to show it in front of Colbert.

Because Eudora knew she didn't have any other choice. If she walked barefoot, she would definitely

get hurt. Then she might get infected or be unable to walk, putting both of them in an even more

dangerous situation.

"I've always wanted to ask you about Mr. Robert. Who is he exactly, and why does he carry a gun?"

Colbert finally asked the question that had been on his mind.

Eudora smirked and proudly raised an eyebrow. "Oh, that's Kevin. He can do anything. Not only is he

skilled in taekwondo, but also in martial arts. His ancestors were soldiers, and Kevin said his father was

an excellent marksman, hitting the bullseye from a hundred steps away. He personally taught Kevin

how to handle firearms. When he was young, he had impressive shooting skills and served in the

military. Later, he retired and became a professional hunter. Kevin also mentioned that he used to do

some grave robbing, but not as a criminal. He had turned over a new leaf now."

Talking about Kevin seemed to open up a never-ending topic for Eudora, and she became much more

cheerful.

"It's interesting, but his disciples are a bit dumb."

Colbert teased, walking over to her and holding her hand. However, Eudora retorted, "Colbert, are you

provoking me? Believe me. I can tell Kevin, and he'll teach you a lesson."

"Shh!"

Colbert tightly held her hand and made a shushing gesture with his other hand. "We can't be sure if

there's drinkable water here, so it's better to speak less and conserve our energy."

His words made much sense, and considering the current situation, Eudora decided not to argue with

him any further.

She handed him her phone, and he put it in his pocket.

Colbert took off the lantern and stood in the middle of the corridor. "Stay still, and let's see which way

the wind blows."

Inside the secret room were candles that they could use to determine the direction of the wind, which

might give them a clue about an exit.

Sure enough, the flames flickered.

The two continued walking forward.

Minute by minute passed, and they wandered in the vast secret room for a long time. In the end, they

returned to the spot where they had fallen.
