Chapter 463

Chapter 463 Never Loved You

They said, "We can let you keep your child as long as you let us have a good time with you."

Alva broke down on the spot. She was in extreme grief, yet there were no tears. She had never been in

so much despair.

She was afraid that what had happened that day would be exposed, and she would become the

laughingstock of everyone in Kenison City and get despised and looked down on by everyone for the

rest of her life.

Tears fell from the corners of Alva's eyes uncontrollably.

With a nervous heart, she called Colbert.

Beep, beep...

The phone rang a few times, and Colbert, who was sitting in the study smoking a cigarette, glanced atnovelbin

the phone on the table. Alva's name was brightly displayed on the screen.

His handsome and innocent face darkened a little. He swiped his thumb across the screen and

answered the phone.

"What's wrong?" Colbert asked.

What a blunt and cold attitude.

Alva's heart suddenly sank to the bottom.

"Colbert, are you ready?" Alva asked softly with tears in her eyes.

Colbert took a puff of his cigarette and flicked the ash toward the ashtray with his slender fingers.

"Pretty much."

"That's fast. We're getting married soon. I-I'm a little nervous."

The truth was, she was not nervous but apprehensive.

"It's just a formality, don't worry."

"Colbert, I-I want to ask you, have you... ever loved me?" Alva asked Colbert what she had wanted to

ask him for a very long time.

After she said that, there was a few seconds of silence on the other side of the call.

"Never."

Never loved her!

The answer that came after the silence only consisted of a single word of two syllables. It was said in a

calm and breezy manner, but Colbert did not know the lethality of that word. It was like a sharp knife

piercing into Alva's heart with lightning speed. The pain made her forget to breathe.

The tearing pain in the heart spread to the limbs and bones and then penetrated into the bone marrow.

As Alva had expected, Colbert never loved her.

The reason why Colbert was willing to marry her was that he wanted to fulfill his promise to marry her

after "she saved him". Also, it was because she was pregnant with "his" child, so he had to be

responsible.

That was all.

"Grandma said that feelings can be developed. After we get married, you will slowly fall in love with me,

right?"

Alva at this moment was pitiful and sad; even her love seemed so ridiculous.

Facing a man who had absolutely no feelings for her, she had to be careful even when speaking.

Was this really the kind of love she wanted?

Alva did not know anymore.

"No."
