Chapter 204

Chapter 204 Corey Was Always Kind to Me

"Expensive."

As Colbert also ate his strawberry oatmeal, he casually responded with a word while sitting across from

her.

Just that single word was enough to emphasize the extravagant price of the porridge.

Eudora figured that if Colbert mentioned it as "expensive," then it must be something she could afford.

"By the way, I won't be coming back for about half a month, you can live your own peaceful life," she

said while spooning up some oatmeal and blowing on it before taking a bite.

She thought Colbert wasn't particularly fond of her in the first place, he probably enjoyed her absence

during the half month.

"Got it."

He simply responded.

"Thought so. If it wasn't for Grandma liking me, you wouldn't have taken me in."

"Good you know that."

Eudora cursed inwardly, 'Fuck! He always makes me angry!'

If she wasn't under psychological pressure and being extremely cautious around the Baldwin family,

she wouldn't be willing to live under someone else's roof.

Yes, it saved money, but it wasn't like she couldn't afford to rent!

After the meal, Eudora washed the dishes and packed some things in her room. She borrowed a

suitcase from Colbert. After sorting everything out, she waved at Colbert in the living room. "Colbert,

I'm leaving, don't miss me too much."

Colbert, sitting on the couch with his legs crossed, shot her a cold glance when he heard her. "What did

you say?"

"Uh... haha, I said I'm leaving, don't miss me too much."

She picked up the suitcase and gave an awkward smile.

"Go away."

Two words "go away," were concise yet full of disdain.

Eudora rolled her eyes at him, shouldered her backpack and left via the elevator, grumbling. "What a

jerk. We've lived together for so long, we're practically roommates, and he doesn't care at all!"

She took the elevator down to the second basement level. As the doors opened, she noticed Corey

standing outside with a suitcase of his own.

"Mr. Housman, are you leaving too, since you're also carrying a suitcase?"

She asked Corey with a curious smile.

"Well..."

Corey glanced at the suitcase in Eudora's hand, instantly recognizing it as Colbert's. Understanding the

situation, he nodded. "Yes, yes, I am."

"Oh, have a safe journey then." Eudora waved her hand at him and then left.

Behind her, Corey said, "Ms. Stanford, have a smooth journey too."novelbin

Without turning her head, she waved her hand. "Thank you."

Eudora thought to herself that Corey was indeed kinder. At least Corey knew to wish her well, showing

such a human touch.
